This is my 1990 Mercedes Benz 300 SEL (w126 chassis) that I use to get around town. The porsche is the weekend toy.
I was curious what you use as a daily driver.
I took this picture at the Sloan Museum Car Show this summer. I take great care of this car and decided to put it in the show. I believe about 5 out of 300 or 400 cars were german! But for a 15 year old car with 191,000+ miles I think it looks pretty good.

For the first time in my life my wife is trying to get me to buy another car to drive daily. She wants me to save the mileage on the 911, but I'm enjoying it so much that I'm thinking of buying another one and simply alternating between the two. My brother has a 2000 C4, but I prefer the feel and patina of my '77.

black/black/black Mini Cooper, arriving in December. Moving down in size,price,payment amt,# of doors, moving up in gas mileage. 911 could be daily driver, may have to be some day, but not now, it gets out about 3 days a week

sorry, I don't take pictures of my '89 MB 300TE, 147K mi.
I don't want it to think it worthy, it will then demand more care & upgrades.
{but has been a heck ofa commuter, family car, bike hauler, interstate cruiser...}

Besides the 964 I own and the 911 I sold to get the 964, this car is the most fun car to drive that I've ever owned. I drive it daily in every sort of condition and it's a hoot. Plus, I get 33 mpg to boot - 30.5 mpg if I'm driving it hard. For what it is (inexpensive, hopped up economy car), it does everything right.

Dry weather, it's the 84 911 Cab. Wet weather, or for long commutes to job #2, it's my new 91 SHO:

The 91's slowly getting upgraded as the budget allows, the front suspension's been redone w/ new Tokico struts & some Eibach springs, new lower control arms & Energy Suspension bushings, aluminum engine subframe bushings, and an 11.6" drilled & slotted brake upgrade up front with Earl's braided lines all around. She also got a '94 full leather interior upgrade last month.
My DD up until mid-summer was my 95 SHO:

This one had everything done, 11.6" brakes all around, rear brake bias plugs, Earl's lines, 29mm rear swaybar, welded subframe connectors, Borla exhaust, Nakamichi system, HID driving lights, BBS RZII wheels, underdrive pulleys, 80mm MAF, chip, aluminum subframe bushings, the works.

As a former jeep owner I do understand. Fortunately I am recovering from the sickness of dreaming of 4 inch lifts, detroit lockers, atlas transfer cases, nerf bars, body armor, sound bars, Jerry cans, 33 inch tires, beadlocks, roll cages,winches, chevy 305's, 700R4 transmissions, dana 44's, trying to stuff a cadillac northstar engine in a jeep engine bay, elimating bump steer.......................I miss my jeep or as my wife called it "The Money Pit"

Here she is, a 2000 R1100RT-P. 45+mpg and I don't have to be embarassed being seen in something like a Prius. Plus I get to use the carpool lane. Careful, though: BMW Bikes can be just as addictive as Porsches. Here is how my driveway now looks with my new 2003 K1200GT!
