great color!, here's my '87, I call it Carmine paint code L80F or G4
I'm trying to determine how rare is this color, I cannot locate color production numbers. I've never seen another in person and I went to PCA Open House in Maryland 2 years ago and Hershey Swap Meet 3 years in row, both with hundreds of P-cars, did not see this color
I see you are working on Aero for the car, I assume a rear wing is in the offing since you have a front lip spoiler?

From what I can tell it's a 1 year only color. Being that it's from the late 80s and it's not as obnoxious as guards red (no offense to anyone with GR, that's color I thought I was gonna see when I went to look at this car ) I imagine it's pretty uncommon, it's not a scar face and cocaine kind of color. Yea I'm actually in process of fitting a duck to it at the moment, I should have pics tomorrow of that done for now.

Here's another pic of the '87, note it is European ride height ( I recommend this)

a follow up comment, no offense re: Guard's Red, I have a '89 951 GR, looks great, I think it's a great choice for the 951. I've brought both cars, the Carmine and the GR to local car shows, park 'em next to each other and the conversations are non-stop.
