For some strange reason, I was thinking valve-stems when I first read this, and flat tires would be the most logical symptom

Let's see, Harry, you're in Oregon. Steve, you're in Oregon. Harry, if you still have the 2.4 CIS T engine, you're getting very close to swallowing a valve big-time! I think that you should trailer your car over to Steve's place and maybe do something about your valve guides, maybe before the head of an exhaust valve breaks off and destroys your engine. Good luck with it, they don't last long after they smoke that badly!

Agree - and I'm surprised nobody called you on that 800 polluter # they have in PDX. Sorry to see this problem so soon after the tire $$ you spent.

Gee Steve, you ruin all my fun.......

Fortunately it was cured with a top end renew that included only 12 valves

BTW, every year at xmas I get cards from the millions of bugs that now breathe a sigh of relief.....

Randy, you make me laugh

The picture was taken on 2002, the rebuild happened in 2003. I keep the picuture to remind myself what it like to live on "borrowed time".

Being a cheapskate, I would have been doing the same thing even if I did not rebuild back then.

See you around....

ah... the missing timeline

I'm glad you can recover from that in less than 2 years. I'm also a severe cheapskate... I blame my mom for that + genetics or cultural memory or something. 3 grandparents had names that began with "Mc"
