Default Looking for Parts is LA Dismantler - A Good Shop??

Looks like the left side blower motor is gone in my 1990 911 C4 - Most places have it around $500 for a new one, but LA dismantlers has a used one for $150 - I have never bought anything from them, has anyone had any dealings with them? Good Positive Negative?? I found the Blower Motor on Pelican Parts for $425 new - they look like a good site for parts? Again any thoughts on Pelican?? Of course local shop quoted me $615!!

A lot of money just to have the air blow on my face too bad I don't have the convert.

1990 911 C4 Baltic Blue (at least that is the color I like to quote)

Pelican Parts is a good place to buy from. I have also found some very good prices (and have had very good service) from EuroWeb Parts: http://www.eurowebparts.com/default....c?make=PORSCHE
Finally, if you are going for a used part, I have no experience with LA Dismantlers, but if you are going to buy from the "left coast" then Parts Heaven has been excellent: http://www.partsheaven.com/

Good luck,
Tom

I think that a lot these parts houses are tied under one company. Check out automotion, speedy. performanace parts, and now I just checked out euro. They look like they have identical items. Does anyone know ???

I haven't heard anything good about L.A. dismantlers. I don't see very good prices for used parts on their site.

So Steve, are you saying I shouldn't pick up a 3.6 from them? I thought they were on my list of decent places. Can you suggest someone reputable to get an engine from?
thanks

I have had several bad dealings with them, they are shady at best. Rumors I've heard point to the processing of hot parts.

Defenitly dont get a motor from them, trust me on this, personal experiance of a customer of mine

Based on personal experience, I would decidedly NOT buy an engine from them.

Buying used engines is not an easy proposition and offhand, I cannot make any specific recommendations. I prefer to buy from private parties so I have a better idea of what I might be getting.

Hey Everyone Thanks for all your comments!! I will at least try them for the $150 for the Blower Motor instead of forking over $500 bucks,, We will see what happens,, I did give them my Government Military email address and my FBI handle so many they will handle me legit,, unless they want me to pick up the phone and make a few calls to the Los Anglese Valley Office.

Anyway after talking with them on the phone they sounded a little shady to me! I will keep my eyes on them!

If you work for the FBI, then maybe it will be a public service to make a "trial" buy -- have buddies in the DOJ fraud units?
