If you don't mind me asking, what year / flares / wheel offsets do you have to make everything work like that?

I hope Ron doesn't mind me sharing this picture. This is the 911 with turbo twists. I have 3 sets of these 1n 18s, if I ever get the 911 I'm lookinf for, I will use them, spacers or no. Myunderstanding is that as long as you have both sides hhub centric, you are OK

The offsets are way different but since Ron got these to fit, there has to be a way, If his are 17's, then to get 18s in the wheels well you would just need a lower profile tire

With the 84 narrow body, I'm using 1" spacers (adapters w/ new studs) to mount the later offset wheels (+52mm), FWIW. The 9" wheel fits ok out back, but I'm not sure a 10" would go, which is what many of the 18's that I like are running (like the razor-thin 5-spoke).

you can get some replica wheels at 9 inch rears in most any type you want. I just bought a set of 8 front 9 inch rear wheels in 18s that look like the 10 spoke carrera wheel, they are hyper black and dirt cheap to boot. they also come in silver, chrome and shiny black. An ebay seller has the 8.5. and 8.5 x 18 competion replicas. I don't really trust that guy though. He never directly answers a question and charges 200 delivery, which is ludicrous. I steered away from him and found another place cheaper for replica wheels. they aren't the same quality and may weigh more, but unless you are tracking, it shouldn't matter. If you are tracking you need a different set of wheels anyway, and usually the size Porsche originally suggested. directdiscounttire.com, no affiliation whatsoever, just a customer. By the way, I haven't received them yet. I just ordered them Friday, so I will let you know how they are.

Check out http://www.ccwheel.com/files/home.php . He can make you a set of custom offset wheels that do not need spacers. I run them in 8x17 front and 9X17 rear with 225x45 front and 255x40 rear. No clearance problems on an 86 Carrera.

Running 18x18 on the front and 18x9 on the rear. The fronts are 225x40x18 and the rears are 285x30x18. The front lip is 2 inches and the rear is 3 inches.

You can fit 10" rears but the o/s has to be perfect. Also very depenadnt o the tire.

An SC/Carrera rear wheelwell can acomodate a perfectly centered ~11x25.7" tire(275/40x17 is one example) IFF the lips are modified , the right side oil line is relocated amd the trailing arm bolts shaved. After all that you will have a very minimal(but servicable) clearance on both sides of the tire.

CCW Racing (black centers) 18x9 and 18x10 on my 78 SC with Hoosier RS304 in 245/35 front and 275/35 rears. My 91 964 will have Fiske Mark V 18x8 and 18x9.5s with 235/35 and 265/35 Michelin PS2's.. Will post pics after the weekend (installing H&R/Bilsteins and wheels on the 964 Saturday).
