I love this car! It really only needed hood struts and floor mats, the PO didn't want to change the carpet as the original carpet is not available. My car is the Platinum color with the Doric Grey interior with rust (red) carpets. I bought a set of Lloyds mats and they fit and matched perfectly. The new hood struts were a pretty easy project, but of course I dropped the pin and the plastic bushing from the driver's side down into the land of the lost. I have a bolt in there right now. I plan on putting in new shift bushings as the shifter seems pretty sloppy. I thought this car was pretty slow compared to my 951, but as I was checking things out, I noticed the accelerator pedal only opens the throttle about 1/2 way. How do I get the pedal off the throttle rod to adjust this? Do I just pull really hard? I didn't want to break anything, the Bentley manual, Pelican and searching here didn't help. Any help appreciated in advance.

In my 78, the rod has a ball on the end that just snaps into the back of the pedal. I don't know if it's a good idea to just pull the pedal forward, however. I held the rod (I think with a pair of pliers) as best as I could and pulled the pedal.
Congrats on the car. I'm a fan of the limited production models.

Thanks. I did just that and was able to adjust the throttle. I had to adjust there and at the rod in the engine compartment at the bellcrank. The car is much faster now. I'll post pictures once it gets warm enough to wash and wax the car. I really like the way the car looks and drives. My wife always liked the 951, but she loves the 911.

It's been snowing here off and on all day, looks that way for the rest of the week. Hopefully I can get pictures posted this weekend. The Weissach Coupe was only a 1980 edition. No real changes mechanically from the SC, but only 400 were made. They either came in Platinum Metallic or Black, both with Doric Grey (full leather) interior with burgundy piping on the seats and red (rust) carpeting. All had the sunroof, 15x6" and 15x7" alloy wheels with Platinum centers, Turbo tail, speakers in the rear doors and deck, heated mirrors and electric antenna. I am biased, but I think this is a great looking car and a blast to drive.

Actually, they had 15x7 & 15x8 wheels.

Jeff-
I bought it in New York. Had it shipped by Passport. Expensive, but I was very happy with everything.
Jerry-
Good to know. I thought the wheels looked wider than 6" and 7" wide, but was going by the August 1989 Excellence article on the Weissach Coupe. I still have plenty to learn, glad Rennlist is available.
