Question Puple Porsche?

I have a 1973 US 911T that I swear was originally purple. Is this possible and if so how many were made?

Aubergine (paint code 025) is probably the color your referring to. It was a factory color available between '72 and '75.

Haven't seen any build figures based on the paint colors, unfortunately.

I have a 73 911S in Aubergine. I don't know the production numbers, but I beleive there were about 15 73 Carrera RS's in that color of 1580 cars made (maybe the percentages are about the same - not sure)

I have to admit, Aubergine is definitely unique! Don't see many of those around. You think they'll ever bring that color back?

I don't think we'll see that color again but you Could Order your new Porsche in Aubergine in a paint to sample from the factory $$$$. It's a beautiful color that represents that early period well.
Nick your Dads car is a beauty,it Looks like it has a brown interior that works well with that color?
Cheers Bob

Purple Porsche ?

I happen to be checking on the Real 911 board and thought the topic related to my 964 color.
Another Purple is the 91 to 93 964 "Amethyst Metalic" - it is very close to the 73 but it is Metalic and has quite a glo in bright sun. I Have also seen a true Purple on an 02 Boxter, with a lite Green interior. I am a fan of the uncommon color Porsche. <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />
