my 80 911sc's clock is not working. Is there a way to fix it or do i have to replace it? Replacement cost so much, i was just wondering if anyone has any advice on fixing it.
i followed the directions on pelican's site and took apart my clock, seems liek the clock is fine. Gears werent broken, the 2 very thin wire is not broken. If not the clock, where should i check? I dont want to have to put it back without solving the problem since its really hard to open it up.
i think i also costed the short and now the key warning buzzer is not working... sigh..... any advise will be greatful. Thanks for reading my boring posts....
There is a mechanical contact that "resets" the spring about every 8 minutes or so when the "points" make contact. Try resurfacing the contacts with a piece of very fine emery cloth. This solved the problem with the clock in my 74. I'd also clean out any dust/debris that can clog up the moving parts. A small amount of lubricant (NOT WD40!) might also be justified.
