![Question](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Can a child seat go up front in the passanger seat? I only ask cause, i've not done this before...my Audi is currently in the shop and i need to get around. I know they sell seats for kids in the front seat of boxsters (which they allow you to turn air bag off). Would anyone do this in their 911 or have done this before? I'm talking about forward facing as he's 16 months old now. Thanks in advance.

It would be wise to check local laws. There are issues with children in the front seat in most states. I believe a car seat will fit in the back of a 911 if the front seat is all the way forward. I want to try this in mine but, I don't want to remove the rollbar.

Hi Guys, I have an '84 Carrera and frequently take my 20 month old son with me on errands and what not. His car seat fits nicely up front (won't fit in back) and with the passenger seat all the way aft, he sits pretty far back. As far as I know, this is legal in CA.

I have a 16 month old girl. Our family car is my 88 Carrera. I bought a Cosco Pepper child seat that fits perfectly in the rear buckets. I will take pictures this evening and post them tomorrow.

I have put my kids in the front of both my non air bag passenger side seats. Just make sure your car seat is suitable for the lap-sash restraints and there should be no problem.

I've done both. Up front, and recently purchased the Costco seat that will fit in back. I believe that the laws regarding child seats in the front all have to do with air bags. In fact the child is probably safer up front as I'm sure that area was designed with crash safety more in mind.

This is the one that I've been using.

Hope the link works. I just went and looked for the seat with the smallest footprint. I'ts basically the cheapest seat out there. I use it with the rear lap belt, and my targa has two harness loops stock? on the rear deck that are used as well. Works nicely. The toughest part was convincing the wife that a $50.00 seat was good enough.

I think the name is Cosco Pepper. I bought it in Target for $49.99.
It fits with the standard seat belt. You will need to use the seat belt block that comes standard with the seat. I bought an extra belt to secure the tilting of the seat ( I attached it around the other back seat... It is not supposed to hold the baby seat... just as an extra anchor point to prevent too much tilting).
I took some pics of the seat... Later on I will take some with my little one in it. Wife has supervised and given her nod!
