Default Clutch Replacement Cost - Midwest

I haven't seen a recent post about the cost of replacing a clutch assembly on a 1983SC.

I am in the Chicago area.

Also would like to get some recos as to shops that you trust in the area.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Perfect Power - owner Sol Snyderman in Buffalo Grove. I don’t know the cost, but they are as good as they come when it comes to quality and knowledge.
I was a customer for a long time.
Good luck.

id be really curious how much things are these days too ... i do all my own work and am never sure how much I am really saving. I would not hesitate to drop my engine if i needed a new clutch . but wonder is it worth just giving to someone to do .

is that 6 hours? I think the in and out and replace is probably in that ballpark with someone experienced (someone really experienced can probably do it in 4 ). I'd expect most shops to bill around 10 though. Parts should be under $1k assuming the flywheel is good.

Dealers are over $300 US / hr. it's insane. My indie is around $225 I think? Rates have skyrocketed the last few years, especially in CA.
