I love that twin plug engine! I found an original roll bar hidden at a dealership!! The real deal! It will be mine for $550 or so! I have some holes where the main hoop of a roll bar would attach, I wonder if the factory bar will match up to them (more possible potential for the cars history!)?? The factory bar attaches the rear braces to the rear seat bolt points! The rest is fairly conventional to modern bars except these fit very tightly! I am going to drive out to see it to make sure it is still a legal bar for current competition rules. Regardless I will liekly buy it anyway since these are VERY rare. I have my eyes on another 2.2 ltr donor engine to build my little monstor from and keep the current (mystery) motor for collectability. I REALLY want to build a high rev big bore, short stoke engine which has been done many times but maybe not as far as I am planning to go. I found a new cylander design which allows for very large bore on a 2.2 ltr block making a 2.7ltr. There is nothing quite like a flat aircooled six at 9000+RPMs

With the actual motor that is in this car Porsche set
5 absolute long distance speed records at Monza, Italy in 1969.
The car averaged 130.01 mph over a 4 day, 96-hour run.
Photos of a 1968 911L Factory customer Rally car. Built by Porsche with R roll bar, front and rear gravel / skid plates, green glass, special 901/05 gearbox with LSD, Koni sport suspension and special interior tool bin. This car was special ordered, picked up at the factory and then never raced or rallyed. The car still retains it's original interior and much of it's original paint.
Same car, but the photos were taken at different times.
Another peice of the puzzle perhaps? My car had green glass too. The interesting this is that the silver car has pop out 1/4 windows like mine which I thought were a no no on 'R' cars. What do the skid plates look like? I need to check the code on the tranny too. The 'R' bar looks neat for nostalgia but not safe being so low and such. I think I will have one made. I like those basket weave stone guards on your car Harry. I just ordered some myself!
