1973 911T decklid Lettering script color
I’ve reviewed all my 911 longhood books and cannot find a clear picture of what color the ‘Porsche’ and ‘911’ script color s/b on my 1973 911T Targa.
searches online have revealed pictures of the script in a muted black, the same color as the rear decklid grill but also found pictures of what appear to be an anodized aluminum finish to the this script.
Can anyone confirm the correct finish?
Thanks in advance!

black, not silver. i think it changed in 72? 71 was silver anodized grills/lettering for sure.

The provided picture - thank you BTW - shows the grill black but the “911T” and “Porsche” letters/script to be what appears as an anodized aluminum color, but definitely not black.
can you confirm exactly what color the 911T and Porsche script color is?
Thx!

Hate to say it but this is a question for the early911sRegistry (aka Patina) crowd. I'd ask over there.

For '72 and later, the PORSCHE and 911T/E/S letters are black, but over time they have often faded to become a dark silver color. The 2.4 is always silver.

Thank you. My car's lettering matches this, however it appears in conflict with other posts on the lettering. I'm wondering if its model specific, ie. the S, E and T might have variations or possibly depended on color of the car?

Not for 72 and later. Until 72, gold lettering for E and S, silver for T, but gold optional.
