Silly question huh?
I'm trying to replace my **** with a MOMO one but the thing won't budge. Does it twist off? or is there a fastener on it somewhere?
btw the car is an 80 SC

Tommy-
have to disagree with Jeremy - your 80 SC does not have an allen screw holding the shift **** on - that was introduced with the '87 that got the G-50 transmissions. Hammer and 15MM (or vice grips) should do the trick. Make sure you have a new crush sleeve.
Thanks to Tim (below) for pointing out my initial error.

I wedged a screwdriver(or 15mm) into the crush ring at a 90* angle and took a hammer and pounded away at the screwdriver. About a half an hour later, the crush ring popped off. A little trick I use to ensure the aftermarket momo **** never accidentally slides off(happend to a friend during a DE
) is to get some heat shrink tubing and place it around the shaft before fitting the new ****. The tubing also helps the allen screws(for the new momo ****) to get some more grip.

I stand corrected - you are absolutely right. I've edited my first post as well.

Does this apply to all MOMO ***** going back in time. I'm in the same predicament at the moment, in an attempt to replace the two front shifter bushings...

ok i tried a while back to remove my momo **** to replace shifter bushings removed the 3 allen screws. **** still wouldnt come off, pounded the hell out of it using the 15mm wrench and hammer trick, still no luck, rather than destroying or damaging the solid wood **** which I love and dont think they make any more, i took the center console apart with the **** still on. which took 3 times as long. but worked
