Default What rear shocks do I have? Help

Hi,

I’m looking to replace my rear shocks and what I’m reading says they should be yellow or green. I have just looked under my car and they are black with a blue sticker? Anyone know what these are? My car is a 1986 3.2 Carrera Targa.

Will Bilstein Sport shocks be a direct fit? Or is this more complicated??

Big Thanks,

Without a pic sounds like OEM or some variant of them ..

Look like boge

the rears are easy. And yes sports will fit.
the fronts you need to identify the strut you have.
then order the right bilstein insert for the front. Front is not hard but a bit of a job if they are original. Large gland nut and remove insert and remove old fluid and then replace with gas charged insert.
likely are boge but need to check. Post a pic you can tell visually. Usually.

Thanks @Spyerx I will post a picture in the morning. I have just read that Bilstein Sports will give an addition 1/2 in gap from tire to fender due to them being hi pressure and my original Boges were low pressure. I want to avoid the back lifting if poss….

Any knowledge of this?

When i replaced the shocks and inserts on my old 89 it did raise it a tick, i don’t think 1/2” though. You can adjust this and lower the car if desired. I had it aligned after the replacement. The car drove much better with bilstein sports

The look like boge. There should be stamped markings on the shock forget which side but it’s near bottom near control arm side.
