Question Tires are like shredded cheese

Have not driven my Porsche 911 Carrera 4s for a week or so. Drove it tonight and wife noticed an unusual amount of tire tread in the driveway. We looked at the passenger side front & rear tires and they look as though they are melting. ( new tires with less than 1k miles) You can run your hands over them and tread just falls to the ground in pretty large chunks. No sensor lights are on! Nothing! AWD and have had no problems and the car is driving perfectly. Does anyone know what might be going on?

If they make the wiring out of soy, I guess it makes sense to try to make tires out of shredded cheese. Bold strategy though.

The cars in this forum are not so forward looking as the newer ones, I guess.

As long as they don't choose Swiss cheese. The holes will let all the air out.

1k miles - take them back where you purchased. What brand?

+1, something is quite wrong. Faulty rubber, or really bad alignment, or poorly stored tires could cause these things.

I agree with this. Unless your 1K mile tires were accumulated over a span > 5 years, then there's something wrong with the tires. Not safe to drive on them.
