I was wondering what tire pressure people put in their tires? The DOT tag on the door says 36psi front and 36psi rear. My owners manual says 29psi front and 44psi rear. This is for 205/R16 front tires rim 7JX16 and 245/R16 rear tires rim 9J16. I have been running 36 rear and 32 front. Curt

I have doubts about both those references you cite, but agree with what you actually do.
From my notes, on my '85,
tires are 225/50R16 Z rear; 205/55R16 Z front (I have 6 and 7" wide rims)
inflations specs are 29 front, 36 rear
I actually inflate 2 psi higher, figuring I don't check pressure every day, and it's more likely to go down a little than up on its own.![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I run 30 front 34 rear in my 89 with 17 inch wheels, from what i understand being a 3.2 G50 car ,well actually a 3.6 now it is heavier in the rear than a 3.0 Carrera , i may
be wrong but that's what i've been doing for the last 12 years !
Cheers

Try F/R of 30/32 or 32/34 in your car and see if you don't like it better.

The extreme bias in F/R pressures was something Porsche added as less "driver-oriented" customers began to buy the cars. it is designed to promote understeer, which is easier for non-experienced drivers to control.

It also depends on how the set up of the suspension is.
With more negative (or positive) camber than normal you want more pressure otherwise you will see how the tire edges will wear unproportionally more
