Default Hotrod Build Start To Finish Video

It's been a while since I've shared details about my project car here on Rennlist. Maybe the seam welding or strut bar brace threads ring a bell?

The car is now mostly finished. At least phase 1. I doubt it will ever be finished or perfect, ha ha.

The video below covers start to finish. Yep three years of work consolidated into 11 minutes.

My methods aren't conventional and some of the mods might be one of one? Who knows.

Phase 2 will get a 3.2L engine, more suspension mods, plus loads of tuning and testing.

That's what a toy is for right? To play with...

Default Restoration Cost Reveal

This video reveals all the costs of this restoration to date: My goal was very aggressive - $10k including the cost of the car. I think I did ok!

Default 911 Drive VIdeo

Thanks all!
Here's a driving video and review of a friends car that is similar to mine.
Ian gives a lot of free driving tips in this one.

Hagerty was nice enough to shoot my unfinished car and write a story. The little part about a 3.2L engine included in the original budget is a white lie!

What got you interested in hot rods? And what about maintenance? Do you do it yourself? I've asked before if something like this would be good for a car guy to wrench on and the answer was "no" because there's usually alot of custom fabrication that has been Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin done.

I thought you were joking... until I watched your video!

Awesome job! Not many people can say they built it themselves.

I like both original cars and hotrods for different reasons. This particular yellow 911 was well suited to be a hotrod because the project started as a stripped out shell. It would cost a fortune to make it original again and it wouldn't be worth it.

If you like to follow a workshop manual and are just learning to wrench, then start with an original car. If you want to be creative and enjoy troubleshooting on your own, then a hotrod may be a good option too. Most modified cars can be a nightmare to work on if the build quality and documentation are poor. Buyer beware!

For example, I opted to keep the factory wiring harness but delete a few functions/switches that I didn't want. That way if someone needs to troubleshoot in the future, it won't be like starting over.

But if you are looking to replace the fuel pump on my car according to the workshop manual, you won't find it. It's been moved inside the tank.

No joke! It is a lot of work to build a car on a tight budget and not skimp on build quality. Cost will creep up as time goes on, but that's normal as more creature comforts are added.

Double clutching isn't for everyone, but here's this weeks video going in depth as to why it can be beneficial when driving fast.

Great video- thanks for posting. Nice to have such detailed explanations for double clutching and blipping the engine.

Here's a video regarding door trim polishing and getting the door window frames to fit out of sheer will! See what I mean?
