Default 911sc purchase advise

I want a 78-83. I love the wide body 930 turbo look. I have looked at this car and am ready to purchase.
my issue is this is more the 964 turbo look. I can put factory front impact bumper back on and 930 rear lower extensions with impact bumper also.
but, what is with the long flat panel under door that trims it out.
is there a factory side skirt piece that could replace that to finish off the 930 look?

also. It has not run in 10 years. Ran and shifted great. Parked and became showroom queen. I know what it will take to get running again. Lots of great info here.
iInterior s all newly redone and nice. 81k miles. 993 calipers not sure what rotors. Paint done new window rubber. Some imperfections under paint here and there. Old glazing maybe. Great from 5 feet. Lol also all steel flares and fenders. Well done there.

my guesstimate is my labor plus 4-7 k in parts to have mechanically good again. Depending on how many upgrades I do while at it.
What is it worth as it sits and what would it be worth finished off and mechanically solid??

get a compression test before proceeding on that kit car everybody parks cars for ten years without starting, when they are running and shifting great!

Have an expert check out the engine. PPI is must unless you pick it up for steal (under $20k).

Yeah I am figuring complete engine drop and expecting the worst.
I shot him a low price but he thinks it’s worth more.
engine turns over. But that’s not saying much.
After sitting that long I would not expect high compression but if it’s the same on all six and at least 100 or better that would be a great thing?

There must be better options, who knows what lurks under those paint imperfections you mentioned.

But to the rocker panel question, It looks like on the sc, the rocker panel bolts on, so to get the 930 look on this car, this fiberglass strip would simply be removed and a 930 style bolted in place and then install the rubber strip?
Thanks again for the input, I will try one last time for him to accept my offer,
Is it true the mileage on these speedometers can be wrong as in they stop working often? I know they can be replaced obviously but assuming it is the original, and works. Looking the car over in all the nooks and crevices, it has little miles as it states, 81k.

^ yes it is true - odometers on these cars commonly break. A little plastic gear becomes brittle over time and breaks. All 3 of my 911's have had this happen.

it is a 15-20k car.
i would walk from it. The car is hodge podge with questionable bodywork.
Everything on it is picked out of different generations. The wing is totally wrong and the rocker are an abortion.

I bought an excellent looking 79SC in the $20s. Been parked for a long time.
$60k later it still looks the same but runs awesome. (suspension, engine, transmission, brakes and A/C.)

What ever you think this cars needs, double or triple it amd given the body it wont be worth much more then you paid for it.

What's the asking price for that car ?
Properly done steel wide body conversions are expensive, 993 brake conversions are nice too.
If the interior is in nice shape with no cracked dash or torn seats it might be a good find.Of course, a thorough PPI is a must ...

I'm in the same boat as TCS ... picked up my 89 for 25K twelve years ago and now , almost 60K into it with many upgrades
it is a nice car , although it could use a full paint refresh, but my plans are a full steel wide body conversion , then paint ... eventually !

Cheers

He wants more than 25, I would be in at 21 or so. Int is nice redone but very well. Dash covered with same material as seats but again, done very well.
Question, are the front and rear fenders the same on 964 and 930? seems the only difference is the rocker panel trim area. I am not a fan of this area on the car, rear bumper is nice, front I want to put back to original If purchased.
I may have to look at it again and see what is under the lower panels, I know they bolt under at factory locations along the under side.
I will add more pics, really appreciate the input.

I would imagine the bumpers and lights as well as the rear wing are removable, but then it would be hard to source proper 491 body or 930 bits.
Somebody spent serious money at one point for this conversion , main thing is to make sure that the car is sound mechanically, as that can cost
almost the price of the car if the engine needs a refresh/rebuild !

Cheers

I wouldn't buy that car at any price.
