Front Suspension Rust Repair
I am getting ready to "kill" the surface rust near one of my front Suspension attachement points to the pan.
I plan on removing the 3 bolts, allow the front arm to fall an inch or so, Rust Mort and POR 15 the spot and reassemble.
My question-Do I need to "unload" the torsion bar before I loosen the bolts?
I am assuming I will need to check alignment/ride height after reassembly.
Thanks in advance.

Harry,
The short answer is probably no, there is no tension on the A arm. When the car is up on jack stands, look at the rear of the A arm where the torsion bar cap is. You will see a vertical bolt with a 11mm head on it. This is the height adjuster which can also preload the torsion bar in the A arm. If the top of the bolt is not pressing against the suspension cross member, then there is NO PRELOAD. If it is, then there is tension, but I don't know how much.
