Post 1600-mile road trip advice?

I'm pondering a 1,600-mile road trip in May from north of Toronto to Pinehurst, NC, in my 1977 911 targa with 1978 3.0L engine. Other than regular maintenance, checking belts, changing oil, etc., are there any other potential pitfalls I should try to anticipate?

Or am I nuts?

Thanks.

Thumbs up

Sounds like a good trip !

I would bring a spare belt, a few spare relays, and a stack of my favorite c/d's.

Ohh yes, & most importantly the V1.
Don't leave home without it.
