In US, chain stores like Autozone and Sears have suitable replacements, with 1-2 year free replacement and 5-7 year warranties. Would not recommend an OPC Porsche battery, as I had one that died 3 years to the day, and I've heard of others with similar short life.

I just bought a new Interstate for my 86'. I got tired of the huge stock size and went with a smaller version. The clamp that holds the battery is adjustable. Look for the holes with the battery out.

I've had good luck with batteries from the dealer (usually Douglas brand batteries with the Porsche logo on them for about 10 times the price). But, I'd agree that you should definitely not waste the money on an OPC battery if you don't need it for concours, etc.

Replaced mine in my 76 with a Sears euro battery for $100.It was exact fit and very powerful.Car starts right up after sitting for a week in 5 degree temps. The battery I replaced was an interstate which is also a good choice.

Avoid the "monster" batteries as they stress the 3.2s alternator especially
when the battery has a low charge and the engine is revved. The 3.2 alt.
output 14.75 and if the "monster" doesn't like voltages over 13.8, large
charging currents result damaging the alt.
