Hey, it is your vision so who cares...and, it can be changed if you want something else....I'd go with some black graphics to balance it out and leave the headlight rings the body color.

Have been working on the car but forgetting to update the thread. Things are coming along. Test fitted the carpet...looks amazing but a few pieces don't quite work, so I suspect there was an error in production. Going to call next week to figure it out. Also installed new 917-style shift **** from TRE in Cali - I think it works well with the brown colour theme. Rear bumperettes removed as well - as soon as I pick a new rear valance to work with the exhaust, I'll send the bumper (and valance) to be painted and have the holes filled. Should I leave the rubber trim or ditch it too?

Another little DIY project in progress...new decklid grille for the ducktail. It's almost perfectly fitted now so I will send it out for powder-coating in gloss black, then mount the rubber trim around the edge. Should look cool with some rivets holding it onto the lid.

I have been following along. This is a great project to be doing. I like the touches. Ducktail looks great IMHO. Looking forward to the final product. What is happening with the red 964?

Been out in California so haven't done much to the car lately, but figured I'd update with a couple little things done before I left. Wiring is all tidied up and tucked away, ready for carpet to go on. Some interior detailing work...gave everything a good scrub (seat buckles etc) and replaced some switches that were faded/worn. Seats arrived - have to build custom mounting brackets...will tackle when I'm back. RS door panels also arrived and are ready for install, hopefully in the next few weeks. Countdown till spring begins and AirBnB is booked for LUFT 7...so it's time to get things moving.

Build is looking great! Are you adding sliders to the seats? Installing Recaro's in my '82 and having fitment issues. Curious about your problem solving.

Thanks. Originally planned on an all-black interior, but everyone is doing that...so decided to mix it up a bit.

These seats came with sliders. Not long enough for stock mounting points (by like 1/10th of an inch), and not wide enough (by maybe 1/4 inch total). Having some steel plates fab'd to simply bolt onto the seat slider and adapt to the stock mounting points. Will take some pics when I'm back home next week...simple solution but seems to do the trick.

I did the exact same with my seats. Made some flat brackets that sit between the factory mounting points and the new seat....... an adapter of sorts.

Slow progress lately due to some curveballs with the door panels & carpet, both of which do not fit properly/without serious modification. You couldn't pay me to install this garbage again, but after literally countless hours and ongoing back & fourth with supplier, starting to see some progress. Unwillingly short on work right now with all the virus fun, so I expect the next couple weeks will involve a lot of shop time. Will try to keep updates coming!

Door panel frustrations...had to really hack up the panel to make it even remotely close to snugly fitting the factory mounting points.

Carpet...don't even get me started. Never again

Painting door sills and rear decklid grille

Rear bumperettes and trim being removed. As soon as lower valance arrives, will send to body shop for filling of holes and painting.
