Nice !!! I've got a set in line with Harvey......there was a rumor that I might see them by the end of the summer. If I get them by year end, I will be happy.

And no....it never ends !!! : )

Its a drug this hobby. And i love projects.

Harvey does amazing work. Too nice for my stuff :-) LONG lead times! Ok so deep 6 set paid for. Was refinished by al reed 5 years ago. 1k miles on them. The look pretty good. If i need to get them done i will but from the pics they look to be in solid condition. Will install with either Avon or swap the cn36 i have not sure.

Got an update from my shop. They are installing elephants carrera cooler on the car. Went well save for 1 hose doesn’t fit (short one to cooler) and the lower cooler bracket needed reworking. None of this stuff is guaranteed to be plug and play which is why i really appreciate techs that take the time to do it right, and can do fabrication work properly.

Which ferrules did they use on the green stripe Parker hose? That crimp looks really clean ! Love it....

Oh, and looking forward to your tire choice...

Thanks, and most importantly the car will run cooler. This is sort of prep for when at some point I build a hotter motor.. :-) I opted for a radiator style vs. the trombone or the 28 tube version. I'm not putting a fan on it, but with this cooler I have that option.

I am not sure, what you see is the full elephant racing kit, so its whatever he uses. His parts look nice and are well done. Not exactly sure why the 1 small hose was too short and the lower radiator bracket didn't fit right though... but its possible the carrera cooler I got, which is an OEM german made one (EVERYONE is out of these, backordered everywhere) isn't 100% exact size...

Was hoping my calipers would be here, PMB had a delay on a part from Brembo Italy, and shop is moving faster than I anticipated so may have to just swap those myself.

Great "tweaks" on all your cars. I look on with amazement how you refine these great cars.

awesome car.
I got to check it out in person at Luft.
my name is Alex. I am in the black shirt and I'm from Irvine ca.
I framed this shot then got my friends to pose for it and then i asked a stranger to take the shot. i like it because of the vibrant orange color with the backdrop of the red buildings.

Nice shot! Yeah, when I pulled in, Jeff Zwart pointed me right there in front of that building. I suspect, pre-planned :-)

Should pickup the car today. I had some wiring funkiness and basically had to pull the front fuse block and check each wire. There were some mis-placed which was leading to my issue of reverse lights only working when car lights were on. He found a few mistakes in the wiring that have been corrected. I'm scared to see what that debugging will cost me but better right than a burned car.

The oil cooler setup ending up nice and going in mostly plug and play as mentioned above. My oil level sender was funky so that is being replaced and the oil temp sensor was reading about 20 degrees HIGH (I guess the better direction!) so he's replaced the sensor, and if needed will get the gauge calibrated to the sensor.

1 pair of the deep 6 arrived. 2nd pair will come tomorrow. Will be sending these off to be refinished, I think. Going to try and clean them up. They were refinished by Al Reed about 6 years ago and only have a few k miles on them, but the anodizing is fogging. The set on my car is in very nice condition so likely will just bit the bullet and get them done.

If anyone is curious, current market on deep 6 match set w/ hearts is about 3-4k in good condition, and ~5-6k fresh refinished. LOL

Anyone want a really nice set of FLAT 6 with near new set of CN36 tires mounted?

Yes, earlier ones. I believe the ones with the safety beads were no hearts? They were the very late production deep6.
I'll need to check dates again but I think these are a matched set of late 69.

Will you run tubed tires? Or are they only for shows?

Ah the safety bead debate...

Likely will risk my life w/o tubes. However, the tire shop I use does all the stuff from Willhoit and others and is very familiar with these, and can do tubes. Will take their guidance.

How many with deep6 actually have the beads added or run tubes? Very few?
