Mixed emotions
I write this post with mixed emotions. I've been a long time Porsche fanatic, joined PCA in 1998, having owned: '87 Targa, '00 986 and now a '89 951 and '87 Coupe. My mixed emotion is from deciding to sell the '87 Coupe. I've wrestled with this decision for months. The reason for selling? Buying a 2011 Boxster Spyder, yes a totally different car, I get it. But the Spyder's got my attention, Porsche really went all out on this car. The engineering is brilliant, the looks stunning and for me they built this in part as a homage to the 550. I love Porsche history. I'll keep this brief, I'm going to miss the '87 Coupe but I will still check into the air-cooled 911 forum even as I move to the water-cooled folks, this Rennlist forum has been very good to me. Thank you.

It is a beautiful car. Life is short, get what you want and enjoy it.
You will miss the 87... and when you do, just take a look again at that Spyder.

Like pretty much everyone on this forum, I am a die-hard air cooled 911 fan, but I TOTALLY get why you would want a Spyder... It is a brilliant car. Interesting... your post number at this juncture is "550"!

I am exactly in the same boat as you have been thinking of selling my 1998 993s except the 2015 or 2016 boxster GTS has caught my eye. I have owned eleven air cooled porsche's since the early 70's and think this spring may sell my 911. I have been looking for a few months now and have only seen one that checked off all my box's. You don't see all that many 2011 Spyders out there. Good luck in your quest.

Drifting
One of the best road cars ever made by Porsche. You will love it. I have 28,000 miles of blissful motoring under my belt. Get one with 6 speed and sport buckets.

Do you have a listing somewhere for your 87?

I'll visit the air cooled forum, of course I'll miss the car, but I'm still Porsche through and thru, If I catch someone, I'll remind them drop down to #5 water cooled then over and down to #9, # 10 or #13. I'm sure they'll figure it out

Or you can have the best of both worlds . '83 much improved 911 SC and 2012 Spyder also with some uniques "improvements"
I can't get the images to upload, I liked the old format much better

I am sad I'm putting my '87 911 Coupe up for sale. it would be great to be able to have an air cooled and a water cooled, old school and new school, but I'm not in a position to do that.
