Long time fanboy, first time owner.
Have been searching for a fun project for a while now and after looking at a ton of cars with a lot of really bad owners I finally landed this one.
1972 911T Targa
-Light Ivory exterior
-Beige interior
-Fuchs, Blaupunkt radio, Appearance package, 5spd
-Dealer installed AC in 1972
-Original jack, spare, etc...
and one of my favorite things...I have the original window sticker, all 3 original keys, original owners manuals, original service book (with stamps!), and a 1" thick folder of receipts dating back to 1974.
Car does need some work, the paint is a 5-footer, interior needs cleaned, needs a new clutch cable and gaskets. PO swapped the original door panels for the RS style ones but luckily kept them so I've got those and the original fog lights as well that I hope to get back into the car. Hoping to have it back on the road shortly!
Had floor mats out when I was checking the car over

Congrats! '72 is the best MY for the body
Do the safety items first - tires must be < 6 years old; replace the brake lines with new rubber from the dealer (will be TUV approved) & replace the brake fluid
then make sure all the rubber fuel lines are ok - best to replace them as they can crack on the inside and drip gas while the exterior still looks fine; use ethanol mix rated hose that is rated for the correct pressure of your fuel system

But yeah, gaskets, hoses and fluids are all on the docket. PO has already done some good upgrades so mostly just combating some symptoms from lack of use. At least that’s how these protects always start right? Hoping I don’t have to go too deep down the rabbit hole.
