Default Do any other manufacturers do this?

I just came across Porsche's restorations. I'd never heard of this before from a manufacturer, does anyone else do this?

Ferrari too, but I understand they are picky. I’ve also heard some comments from the high-end restoration community (talking Pebble Beach best in show types) questioning how good the workmanship really is, or even how accurate. That there have been times they had to redo work. I heard that about Ferrari as well as Porsche.
