The OP's dream car is on BaT right now. 1976 Turbo Carrera with engine and chassis number matching. A cool $200k should take it home.

Sorry about that, never got any e-mail about new answers... Anyway, thanks for the answers.

Didn't buy the car btw, beautiful on the outside but with lots of rust underneath. The tranny had the part where the numbers are stamped scraped off. Not sure if it was intentional or if it had hit the ground at some point.

Get used to it. Most cars you look at will be missing gearbox numbers. It’s not something people do. It has to do with where it is located. And half the cars I have owned Porsche didn’t even have the gearbox number when I ordered the CIA. They didn’t care and neither should you. Only the engine really matters.
