Default The dear and the euro front Bumper install

I just whacked a dear with my 5 day old 95 993. I have read the posts on the various options and have a few questions for those with experience on this.
Does Porsche have the right parts in the correct boxes now?
Does anyone have a list of the other parts required for the proper install?
Does the turbo cover look ok with the regular body 993?
Can I install the s Ducts later after the install?
Does anyone have the part #s for the euro regular and turbo.. cant decide yet!
Any assistance would be appreciated and heres a picture before the accident.

I put the euro bumper on my 993 and am very happy. I did not hit my dear, or a deer.
I also installed the s ducts. If you do the S ducts you will lose your fogs...but you can retrofit and have both! Here is a picture

Also, I do not know the part numbers but the best source for all these parts and instal hardware is Gert. Go to CARNEWAL.COM. He will serve you well. Good luck with social services.
One more thing, get the "GERT PROTECTION BAR" too...it saved my new bumper on first trip out.

I hit a dear bunny with my cab that resulted in the purchase of a turbo bumper. Simple swap. You will need new fender liners. Do a search..... lots of information. Good luck.

Just had a 6 pointer stroll across my back yard this AM, not seen that before. The dogs went absolutely nuts. Fortunately the 993 was in the garage under it's covers.

Sorry to hear about your accident.

Andy, I want your bumper.....and it's already painted my color!

The euro bumper install is the easiest, paint and install (and you loose the bumperettes). You will need the euro indicator lights as your US ones are not wide enough, always a good time to go clear. Nothing else needed.

AS Chuck said with the turbo bumper you will need the turbo fender liners, other than that it is simple.

As for the ducts, they can be installed once the bumper is on.

If you decide to stick to the US Spec bumper, I have one that is brand new. I also have the inner bumper reinforcement structure, should you need it.
Sorry to hear about the deer mixup. Hopefully no one was injured.

Yes it was a deer and not my dear , thank goodness, I would be in the dog house for sure. I have found all the part #s I need from Jerrys post but the Porsche dealer is still trying to steer me away from the turbo front saying it is to heavy looking on a cab. The pics I have seen so far do not show a huge difference but a subtle one that I like. Any thoughts on that. Thanks Doug

I had to replace my front bumper cover about two years ago and went with the Euro narrow-body cover. I love it and am very happy with my decision.

My feeling is that the turbo bumper cover is better looking than the standard one, but that, unfortunately, it throws off the lines on an NB car (because it flares out to meet the side sills on a wide body car).

But I think I'm in the minority on that one (around here).

Doug,
If you are interested, I have a Euro front bumper with splitters I could sell. I also have an RS deck lid that is available.
Unless of course you choose to go with a Twin turbo front bumper and Twin turbo deck lid/tail , both original porsche items in gurds red. I also have them and they are also available.

i'm with your dealer. the turbo front is too massive for NB-cars...

Nope, the turbo (same as C4S and C2S) nose is a straight swap to narrow body cars. The front fenders are the same on turbo and narrow body cars. Someone already mentioned this, but you may want turbo fender liners as well because the turbo nose is a little lower than the stock narrow one and the narrow body liners leave a small gap. I didn't get the turbo liners when I did the nose swap and i just had to drill a couple of holes to get the original liners to attach to the new bumper. It's not a perfect fit but it's pretty close.

Chuck W. posted a picture of cab with a turbo nose here.

Al posted an RS nose here.

Personally I love the turbo nose on all 993s. It reminds me of the Audi RS2 (actually most RS cars from Audi) and of course the 908, 917, etc.

Correct.

But wide body cars have the side sills/rocker panel pieces that I mentioned - running between the front and rear wheels, including the bottom portion of the front fenders - and that side-sill "flaring" is mimicked by the front wide-body bumper cover.

So if you put a wide body front bumper cover on a narrow body car, the lines are no longer aligned (by a little bit).
