The 718 Spyder RS Discussion Thread
I had already put my money for my allocation for GT4RS.
Today my dealer reached out to me and told me that
there is also 718 Spyder RS coming along with GT4RS.
They both will be announce same time around November.
Is this sound stupidly nonsense for you guys?
FYI.
I live in Asia now. In a country that we pay 4-5 times more on car price.
I lived in USA for 15years I know how stupid this might sound to you guys
about allocation on gt4rs but how things work in asia are different from USA.
we only get less than 20 of RS car each model to our country.
so they really have to be spoken for way before it release.

If this were true, Porsche would have to sort out at least two things:
1.- The Spyder doesn't have space for the much needed extra intake on side windows, even with magic, where you would fold the top?
2.- Fitting a swan neck wing over the double bubble lid, really?
Otherwise the Spyder RS won't have the same HP and way more inferior aeros, so RS will be for showing central lock wheels and some naca ducts only?, no way this is happening.

What’s the rumored engine for the gt4 rs?
Maybe the top goes away all together.
I agree it wouldn’t seem to make sense, but if the 718 is the swan song of mid engined ICE…what isn’t possible?

Has Porsche ever had an RS convertible? It doesn’t make a heck of a lot of sense.

Maybe consider changing the title of the thread. A dealer saying something is hardly confirmation.
I don’t see how an RS Spyder makes sense. Limited cooling. Limited aero. What is the point?

RS "formula" is:
- wider track, tuned suspension, typically rubber replaced with solid/rose joints PASM retune
- better aero F&R
- lighter CF body panels
- more rubber (larger contact patches)
- modified "GT" engine w/incremental power output over GT baseline
- since 991 RS PDK only transmission

By roofless, it was in reference to a possible spyder rs, not gt4.
In general, it wouldn’t seem to make sense, so I was spitballing What If

100% certain it’s coming. At least 550hp, with a flux capacitor.
