Yeah, I have a hard time not going back to this tidbit myself. But fun to hypothesize. And is even FREE!

OP has 5 posts including the posts in this thread.

I'll get the one that has the flux capacitor option, the 992.2 RS engine, and comes with a 20 year old Kelly Bundy in the passenger seat.

I couldn’t think of a more pointless model, one way outside of the Porsche model hierarchy, than an RS Spyder. If it does come to fruition, it’s nothing but a money grab by Porsche.

Porsche needs to amortize ICE expenses while they can. A companion to GT4RS makes a lot of sense for profits.
however they could also sell more GT4s and Spyders if the hunt for allocations is anything to go by as an indicator for demand, which, since the development costs are already sunk, would return a better ROI than developing a net new model (in addition to the GT4RS) even with an increased MSRP

I spoke to my dealership, they have "confirmed" that they have heard nothing about such a model forthcoming in addition to the 4RS....

YMMV

Seems a little ridiculous, but then the Cayenne Turbo GT is a thing so...

But the RS badge is a totally different animal with very different implications. Porsche wouldn’t put the RS badge on a car that didn’t have an absolute track day focus and few if any compromises. To make a no compromises convertible would be beyond pointless. Again, other than to sell it as garage/c&c candy to some rich guys. It would be Porsche’s jump the shark moment.

What is the purpose of this thread other than the OP trying to get attention to his opinions?

They might do a special edition Spyder that isn't a RS but using some select stuff from the RS. Think Ti exhaust, wheels etc

However, with minimal modification they can create a higher profit margin product and increase desireability

Andreas Preuninger said that GT cars already do not make much ROI. They are not built for profit. They don't lose money but they don't make much. They are halo cars to attract people to the brand. So I would think an RS version would be even less profitable. The series cars are the ones that generate profit for the company.

Mono (center?) seated, without roof but tiny windshield, track only Spyder, kind of Spyder Club Sport edition ?
Or like the Lamborghini Huracan Evo Aperta ?
Or Monza SP1 ?
Or BergSpyder 982?

Don't think so

I'd be very surprised if a GT2RS Weissach didn't have a huge margin. I do think GT3 and GT4 have among the relatively smaller margins.
