Looking for alternatives for taping track days and spirited drives for GT4RS?? Is it Porsche dash cam or aftermarket cam or go pro etc.?
The car is prewired for dash cam, if that matters? I have seen some solutions for 992 cars, but we have the older PCM so un sure what will work best today
I have a go pro hero 4 that I have used in the past, wondering if there's a better way??

I used an insta 360 and racehchrono reading from OBD and a racebox mini as GPS in my old exige, I will do the same in the RS

Best solution? Vbox HD2. Not cheap though.
Easiest solution? iPhone or Android phone with an app like Track Addict either using phone camera or connected to GoPro(s).
360 cameras look cool, I am unsure if any will connect to put telemetry data overlay on the videos though?

You can do that afterwards with Racechrono for any video

Got it. I have used that software. It sure is nice when it's automatically on there, but it is also nice to be able customize it. Just takes time to do.

Race Chrono - head to the App Store.
There are other apps that work with RaceBox (their website goes over all the details), and I actually like the built in app used for RaceBox when reviewing just track data vs RaceChrono, which is junk unless you use the video capture/overlay feature. Otherwise my phone sits in the paddock when Im not capturing video bc the RaceBox can be set to work independently, then you open the phone app when you’re back at the paddock to see the session data. Race box has the highest refresh rate for the most accurate data available at 25Hz.

I use my Dashcam + Porsche Track Precision App.

I fiddled around with GoPro's for years before the dashcam rendered them obsolete. I have ab Insta360 that I dabble with a little as well but that's more a content creation novelty than a useful tool for track analysis and data.
