Default 718 GT4 pricing

In the market for a 718 GT4. Just wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on current pricing trends. Have they been dropping in price? Or still pretty strong. I could've ordered one new for 30k adm but wanted to continue with the 991.2 GT3's in 2022. Sold that one and now I'm getting the itch to try the mid engine platform. Thank you!

Pricing seems very strong. If anything it's going up a bit. They're not building any more of them, and the equivalent GT3 is astronomically priced by comparison, but IMO not equivalently better.

Pricing seems all over the place and spec dependent. I’ve seen some deals on bat and then other cars sell for 0-30k over elsewhere.

I’d do a little research on autotrader / bat and make the choice then. Colors like shark blue / python will fetch more but luckily there are no bad colors

Having recently been in the market and purchased my second 718 GT4 there is a big spread based on certain specs. Much higher prices for cars with LWBs, PDLS headlights, Other options and maybe PCCBs.
Low spec 718 GT4's with sofas seem to sell for 981 prices.
Mileage is a big factor too with "high mileage" seeming to be 15K plus at this point after which the price drops a lot regardless of spec.
PTS cars command insane prices regardless, that seem to transcend poor spec, accident history, track use, mileage etc (which IMO is dumb, but hey it's your money).

Pricing for non-CPO from a large 2nd hand sports car & porsche centric dealer, is listing GT4s effectively at their original MSRP. This is in PNW, not sure what they eventually sell for. I would think a GT4 CPO at MSRP would be a good find.

They have been increasing in price from what I have seen, though there may be some seasonality. The best deals that I saw were probably in February

Well that goes without saying haha. Been down this road many times. If the right spec comes up, I generally don't quibble about a few extra bucks. It just gets purchased. That being said, I just haven't really been following 718 GT4 pricing for very long at all so I wanted see what rennlisters thought about it.

Pricing is all over the map.

Search PCNA to see what dealers are asking, compare that to non Porsche dealers.

Look at closed BAT auctions, both sold and unsold.

That’ll get you in range.

Yeah, that's what I suspected was the case as well. Increases now, but could change slightly in the coming winter months.

I traded my 991.2 GT3 for a ‘22’ GT4 and felt I had made a mistake. Traded the gT4 for a ‘23’ GT3T and didn’t care for the feel. Traded the GT3T for a ‘24’ GT4 RS and I’m now a happy camper. No plans to get rid of the 4RS.

There seems to be more inventory in the Eastern U.S. I looked at Spyders on Autotrader a few days ago and there were 59 for sale but only 9 within 500 miles of my California location. Might find a better price outside of your area.

Build your ideal GT4 with its intended purpose in mind, and spread your wings on your search - the price when you're ready to pull the trigger on an ideal spec will be what it is at that time.
Example: specs with PCCB's will fetch a little more than steelies, though if you're planning to remove them for track and put on a set of steels, then the value of a car w/PCCB's isn't there - to me that cars value is + the cost to replace the braking systems.

I was recently offered 15K over my MSRP by one of my local dealerships. Sofas, no PCCB's, no fancy leather dash or deviated stitching. and 19,000 miles on the ticker. My counter offer was 140K for me to sell, this was neither accepted nor declined to date.

My local brokers and Porsche gt car specialists told me they believe the market for 718 GT4's is about MSRP. The Porsche dealers seem to be buying used gt4's trying push up pricing, often listing cars in the $130-$140k range only to reduce prices eventually. Both of my local Porsche dealerships recently have/had cars listed at $15-20k over MSRP, one is loaded, CPO, with an MSRP of $122k being offered for $143k and the other is a stripper with a $107k sticker being offered for $125k, no CPO. CPO adds about $5k. Certain options like LWBS and PCCBs seem to be in high demand and PTS cars are commanding a significant premium. The market also appears to be very sensitive to mileage with almost tiered pricing; less than say 5,000 miles at the upper end, then 5-12k at another and anything mileage over 15k is noticeably cheaper.

FYI - I just purchased a 2020 GT4 with LWBS, chrono, deviated stitching, chrono, carbon interior, steels with black calipers, PDLS, new cup 2's, front half PPF and with 13k miles, CPO'd through 12/2026 for $5k over MSRP from a Porsche dealer.
