I simply don't see the Spyder or the Spyder RS a single purpose toy, I take it whenever and wherever I want, rain or shine, to leave it at home because you are worried about weather or parking (within reason) is crazy, or it must be a money thing.

C: Drive it all the time, roof up, roof down, roof half down in all weather conditions all year and pile on the KM’s and enjoy every one with extended road trips, and track days.

There are members here who do this with their spyders. “A” and “B” imply the car isn’t good in anything other than perfect weather. The roof does not limit the use, unless you want it to.

B: The RS is loud but slow vs. the TTS. The roof limits its use case big time. You have to plan on parking and weather before driving it. Can't enjoy the car whenever I want. Hate it.

Even though I only plan to use it as a point A-A toy, I constantly have concern that the limited use case may get tiring someday. If there are really 4 SRS coming to PFAFF unspoken for, the used car value may not be pretty should I decide to sell it back.

Random question - anyone thought about the R8 RWD Spyder instead? 2023 left over seems to be a steal.

agree with this. Plus the Bimini top solution is ideal. I love that you can hear and smell the car and the environment around you, BUT with the advantage of sun protection AND excellent blind spot visibility compared to other ragtops with the top up.

This is in Alberta, not ON. But yes, that is kind of a concern too, that they have 4 coming in and not spoken for. Although I have heard some buyers went elsewhere because they make you buy PPF/ceramic with the car... Some guys are annoyed of the games and going to Kelowna, Saskatoon, etc.

All good info from everyone, it is helpful and I enjoy reading all the interesting opinions. I know the car won't be even close to the TTS in terms of speed and power, but that is kind of the appeal. The TTS modified is just almost too much for the street. I was missing the days of drifting around.

Will four cars being delivered really impact resale values all that much? This is not a high volume car.

Do you have a Spyder or Spyder RS? Spyder roof is a child's play in comparison. I would have no problem with it too.

I have a Spyder and a friend with the SRS, and that roof is also dead simple, or you could say child's play as well, certainly no reason to leave the car at home!

Glad to hear!
I am ready for it to be a toy, anything better is bonus.

Having spent a few days in Europe driving my old man’s SRS over 500 KMs, I will say the roof is not as big a deal as most say. The partial setup without the rear cover makes it such a fun experience allowing you to hear and feel the motor doing its thing beside your head.

It’s an utterly fantastic roadster, one unlike any other before given its RS chassis treatment (and subsequent driving performance) and the glorious GT3 engine right beside your ear drums. I can’t think of anything other than a Speciale Aperta that can even come close, let alone at that price range…

If you absolutely love the thrill of driving, this is the kind of car that will make you get out of bed early on a Sunday morning (hell, even a Monday) and get an adrenaline fix in.

I am super anxious to drive it back to back with my Spyder, I’ve a feeling I’ll like the 6MT and more usable roof more in the regular Spyder but goddamn does the GT3 engine with that sensory experience make a very, very strong case to trade up…

Anyone have real life pics of Vanadium with WP and gold magnesium wheels?

Would also love to see some black with WP.

Hard to find online. I found some black but no grey with gold wheels...

Lucky to have an RS Spider thats about to start build. Had a good drive in one last month, one of the most fun road cars i have ever driven from any maker. Its a Mid engine GT3 with road tuned suspension, and best of all its a Cab, Ok the roof takes a couple of goes to get used to it, but this is all part of the car. Genuinely feel that this will go down as one the most fun to drive road cars that they have made.

[QUOTE=Angryinch;19486407]Ive been chatting a bit about this in the GT3 section but figured it would be more ideal to post here.

I was recently offered a '24 Spyder RS, truthful, I don't know a whole ton about the 718... Currently driving a '23 911 Turbo S that is pretty highly modified (keeping long term). I was chatting with my SA and sent him a pic of a Spyder RS that I saw on IG and I'd mentioned that these were really growing on me. He mentioned he has one coming in that we could discuss.

Its obviously quite a different car than a 911 TTS and that is what appeals to me. Being an RS is also a pretty neat factor as well, are these RS hard to come across?

My original thought was to go for a GT3 Touring, I wanted something NA to compliment the Turbo, but this RS has me thinking hard and watching lots of youtube reviews!

All comments welcome! Cheers

BUY THE SRS !!!!

Ive got mine, and it is by far the best, most engaging car I've ever driven
- previous Porsches Iv'e owned 1) 2001 Boxster S 2 )2007 991.1 CS cabrio 3) 991.1 CS 4) 2022 Spyder 5) 2022 Macan S 6) 2024 SRS
- SRS is a unicorn car that is made with all of the best bits and pieces from 718's and 911's
- Handling is is insane. Having the rotation point of a mid engine car makes driving so much more fluid. Don't have to wait for the suspension to load up as with 911's. You have to be very cognitive of that rear end ballast, in 911's it will bite you
- The sound is so so so nice. Even driving slow, you hear that sweet humm of that engine. Low gurgling in the town, and then full lunacy when you are in the canyons. And in my opinion, it is NOT too loud. It is perfect
- I actually prefer the roof of the SRS to the Spyders. I take off the rain portion in the rear and cruise w the bimani top on, windows down. You get the airflow of a convertible, but you not going to fry your head on hot sunny days. The noise is actually best this way. The top directs the sound to you
- The engine....it is a different beast than the regular Spyder. It is just glorious. The power difference is very noticeable, it real. You are now in super car league. I am not intimidated by any car. Please pull up next to me. Please please try to keep up with the RS in the canyons. I want to see what the front of your car looks like in my rear view mirror
- Finally the look. This car is stunning. It is tough, it is pretty, and it is unique,

I would not trade my SRS for any car, any manufacturer. Nothing will give you the experience of this car.
STRONG BUY !!!

I was offered a changeable GT3 allocation at another dealer but have to buy a SUV too lol. I dunno if I even want another 911, the SRS is something so different and has the GT3 engine, best of both worlds.

I think the SRS comes in around 3-4 weeks from now, Ill go look at it when it comes in. I am leaning towards it.

They want me to buy PPF and ceramic coat however... Its about 7-8k in extras, kind of salty about that.

If that is the only additional cost, I would jump on it. Here in the US, our local dealers still seem to ask 75k ADMs and a friend just got one with a 50k ADM out of state. In-state ADMs have been 25k to 50k in other cases and only a few have received special deals (trade-ins, financing, PPF, watches, etc).

I would assume you would want to do a PPF anyway on the car to avoid stone chips. So, I would just make sure that they use a good installer.
