I say if they’re both paid for, keep them. Otherwise sell the 911, the spyder is more special.

Well its not like his 718 saw the road much anyways, so hopefully it goes to an owner that puts on more than just the Buyers Manual suggested break-in miles.

if i get to my asking price (which I felt is on the high side of the market), I’d sell. If not, I’ll keep it.

figured I’d get more road time on the 911 with the newborn vs the Spyder which I drive so seldomly

This☝🏻. Back in 2018 I had a 991.2 GTS with full exhaust and tune and a stock 981 GT4. GTS was really fast but not so much special for me, I always grabbed the GT4 keys. Maybe because I love the GT car feeling plus NA plus manual, but same happened to me with the turbo. The Spyder is a super special car, lovely retro design, I sold it only because I have a Spyder RS coming, but the Spyder will be the last of the toys for sale, I prefer to sell my 992 GT3, but you have to find your answer, keep both and then decide.

The 992 is great for long road trips. I think it all depends on what you will be doing with the car. If it will just be a sports car that you will typically drive alone, there is no comparison IMO. The steering, connection to the road, the car's reaction to your input, the shifter, the accelerator mapping, the pedal position, the simplicity of the controls, are all significantly better in the Spyder. However, it's a raw, engaging sports car. If you're looking for a road trip car and if you plan on putting your child in it, then it will have to be the 992. The 992 is still great, but IMO it is a GT. Even.in GTS manual trim like mine, the 992 is a GT if the Spyder is the benchmark. If status is important, then it will be the 992. Everyone recognizes and fawns over the 992. The 718 is a Boxster/Cayman which the ignorant masses know as the car for the wannabes who can't afford a 911. But a car is a personal expression. The 992 is elegant and gorgeous. It has grace, poise and presence. The Spyder looks like it's dying to snap its leash and break the law. When I drive the Spyder, I feel that I can do anything and the car will just do exactly what I want. I can sense how close to the limit my tires are with my finger tips. There is no slop anywhere in the steering. Heel toeing is comically easy in the Spyder. The 6 speed is also magic. If you're a manual driver, then I'd tell you to absolutely stay with the 718. The 7 speed is just stupid and should not exist IMO.
thanks for your feedback! This was super valuable to me

He will sell the rough-riding GTS and get a Cayenne soon enough next year.

Speaking of which, does your B25 have PASM or SPASM? Was curious about the real world difference as mine has SPASM.

Sorry folks!

SPASM unfortunately. A bit of a rough rider on bad roads.

I added the DSC Sport module on my B25 which helps a bit but I think the stiffer spring rates are the main issue. Adding a DSC Sport was pure magic on my prior 991.2 C4S Cab, but that car had PASM.

I have a 2020 992 C2S and a 2022 Spyder. Personally, I drive the Spyder more often in warmer months and 992 the rest of the year. I think you will regret selling the spyder! Please keep them both if you can.

In the long term the Spyder will be worth more for sure as the last 6 speed NA Spyder. The GTS will be a better ‘family car’ that can sit ‘4’, but probably won’t give you the same thrills. As others have said, if you can keep both, then keep both for now.

Congrats on the little one btw! We got a 1 year old, and I can tell you from experience you won’t get to enjoy the 911 for a while either. While the baby may be small, they have so much stuff to carry around

Has anyone owned a 992 and a 718 GT4/Spyder? Will I regret it I sold my Spyder?

I think it'd be too redundant for me to keep both, but if it had to be one or the other I'd choose the more beautiful one. That'd be your Spyder. They just feel more special to me than almost any 911, maybe any.

Barely broken in after a year; now a newborn and another Porsche sports car?

I mean it’s your call, but you can always get another one.
