I thought the early ones were still pcm 3.1, which is the newest my system will work for. my apologies if your year is newer.

it should work. My friend has a 2020 GT4 and he did the "hack" to enable AA on his car. My 2023 GT4 i was also able to do the hack. However it does seem like anything before or after those years you are unable to. Unsure still about the 2024 and above as it seems like its a firmware thing and not a hardware thing.

PCM 4.0 was used before 2020 in various models.

PCM 3.1 was up to 2016 981 and PCM 4.0 was introduced in the 2017 718 models.

My 2024 Macan (PCM 5 I believe) does not have Android Auto but it does have wired CarPlay.
I am trying to find a dongle that will convert it to Android Auto wireless (I have a Samsung S22+ phone).
The CarPlay App is ONLY visible when I have an iPhone connected.
The CarPlay App is NOT visible when I have the Android connected.
I purchased a dongle that I have not been able to get to work because it needs the CarPlay App visible.
Does anyone have the same issue and have you been able to find a solution?
I am looking at Ottocast, Carlink 4, Dashlynx.

I have an Ottocast. It connects about 2/3 of the time. Can't figure out any rhyme or reason when it doesn't. I've heard Carlinkit 4.0 MAY be better. I kind of doubt it. Not surexif you can do the wired AA hack with PCM 5.0 or not. I'm doing through with it soon.

Carlinkit 4 should be the one, it works with wired Car Play to give you wireless Android Auto.

I have been using it for my Spyder for over a year now...

Any hiccups or disconnect or unable to wirelessly connect with your Android phone over your 1 year use ?

My Ottocast disconnect or unable to connect at least once every 2 weeks so looking for upgrade

Every once and awhile it will fail to immediately connect on start up, but usually that is because I have been messing with either the app or some setting for BT. A disconnect is very rare.

I would estimate 95+% connectivity.

So I brought a Carlinkit 4.0 to try. The unit is slightly smaller than my Ottocast. My first impression of the Carlinkit is that it is slower to connect compared to the Ottocast. For example, the Ottocast will connect and show up on screen within 10 seconds upon starting my car while the Carlinkit will take up to a minutes. Will test it for the next 2 weeks to see if I want to keep it or send it back to Amazon.

Btw, anyone figured out how to update the firmware on the Carlinkit ? I follow the instruction in the menu but no go.

Tried a Ottocast mx to convert carplay into Android auto in my 2020 cayenne, it worked but Bluetooth phonecalls sounded pretty bad and a lot of static on the audio for Spotify. I finally got the car just coded from Raymond and it works much better.

It's the same where it converted carplay into Android auto but without a an Ottocast or other. I also tried an android wireless adapter and it worked just fine .

Raymond was great
