Do you have a link or a name? This sounds like it might be my best bet

Just to clarify, it looks like on Amazon it says that it works with a car that already has wired Android Auto active. Since our PCM doesnt come with AA active (but it is on the device) this will still work in bringing Android Auto onto the PCM? Just want to make sure before i pull the trigger.

So yes, you need Carplay activated first. The dongle just makes it wireless.

This isn't correct. Ottocast provides a wireless AA experience (it is a little finicky) without turning AA on thru the PCM. I plan to do this but not until after I drive my new to me 4.0 tomorrow. My original question was is there a better alternative? I've since bought the Ottocast for the 700 Mike drive tomorrow.

Yes, it somehow tricks PCM into thinking it's Carplay. As I mentioned, it's a hack with glitchy results. Great when it works, but there's a fair amount of times you have to unplug/reset it (even after I updated firmware). The PCM hack seems like the answer for a long term AA solution.

Working on finalizing a purchase of a GTS 4.0 and two day drive to get car home. Any suggestions for an AA dongle to make the trip a little easier? I plan to return it shortly after the trip and code the PCM as a permanent AA solution. I have an Ottocast in my 911.2, but curious if other brands work better. The one below works, but it's not a consistent connection.

Any of the wireless devices you have to turn the AA on first for it to work. You can do it yourself or, if you don't have the time to mess with it, pay Sima $200 and he will remotely turn on AA and Carplay (and nav if you don't have it) for you. He even re did it for free after my dealership did a software update and turned it off.

Ok thanks for the clarity. I had AA turned on in my GT4 however based on the thread on this, the new 2024 models come with a new version of the PCM and the firmware is different and currently people are saying to avoid doing the hack for now, so i was currently looking for alternatives to trick the PCM into thinking i have AA. Seems like Ottocast is the only one that does it.
And regarding the 2024 PCM, I would recommend that you do not hack it... ever!

Ottocast doesn't support GPS passthrough so you'll drain the phone battery faster... that's the biggest plus using Carlinkit but its slower to boot up.
