I just missed out this morning and very much appreciate the gesture. I placed an order for the second batch. Thank you.

I have been asked in the 992 board to compile a list of recommended tools for centerlock job using NutCracker. Here it is:

I have picked all items on Amazon and am adding the links to the text. These are just suggestions, feel free to use any other tool matching the description below.

1)
Floor Jack Floor Jack

At least 2 ton capacity, low profile construction.

2)
1/2" (Expandable) Ratchet 1/2" (Expandable) Ratchet

This is exactly the size I am using in my videos. I case you're taking NutCracker with you on the road like I do, the expandable construction comes really handy as it fits really nicely in the glove box of your car.

NOTE: This ratchet may not provide enough leverage in case someone overtorqued your centerlock wheels before. In such case you would need a breaker bar with ratcheting head
like this one. like this one.
This would still be used in combination with NutCracker.

3)
1/2" Torque Wrench 1/2" Torque Wrench

Anything up from 89 ftlbs needed for this job. The linked one allows you to subtract one ftlb from the 90 ftlb scale, which is nice.

4)
Reverse Clamp Reverse Clamp

To use between drivers seat and brake pedal to apply moderate braking force with engine off.

Only needed to work solo on the front wheels.

5) Castrol Molub Alloy TA paste

To use for contact surfaces (as shown here). Can't find a link for the original Castrol in the US, but
this seems like a good replacement. this seems like a good replacement.

the torque test channel put out a video on torque multipliers today, worth watching for anyone looking at using one of these things, they do not seem to be very accurate. would be really interesting to see more units measured

Thread moved from 991 board to 718 GT4RS / SRS board as we can only have two such threads and the 4RS / SRS folks also deserve to get the means to tackle their centerlocks.

See first post for details.

Damn, we missed the super duper discount.
Why the need for the reduced brake force ? Isn't the reaction arm preventing rotation ?

Well getting one of the early adopter priced units wasn't easy and many people who wanted to get one, could not. So not much to regret i would say.

The reaction arm negates only part of the force you apply at the center of the wheel (in opposite direction). You still need to "account" for the rest with some braking force.

I purchased the following:
a) Hazet 5122-3CT Torque Wrench 12.5 mm (1/2 Inch) 40-200 Nm Made in Germany $163 from Amazon

b) UYECOVE 1/2" Drive Extendable Ratchet, Durable Socket Wrench Extendable Ratchet 1/2, 72-Tooth 1/2 Ratchet Long Handle, Soft Grip Handle Hand Tools - 12.1"-17.3" Lengths

I chose to have a separate ratchet wrench for removal to avoid having to remember to change torque setting. All very useful feedback above. Thank you!

That's what I do as well. If I can assume, that NutCracker is already with you, I would love to hear from you when your other tools arrive and you try it out.

Gabriel - Nutcracker is not yet in my possession. Appears it was shipped last week, but FEDEX website still says it is not in their possession. Not sure when it will get here.

Apologies, for some reason I thought you were part of the first group. We are using a local (European) shipping company, which hands it over to FedEx. First 6 units from the second batch (yours therefore included) were submitted on Saturday, I am hoping it would get in FedEx' possession later on today (Tuesday). You should receive it next week.

I saw my tracking update last night to show it was handed To FedEx and a new FedEx tracking number was generated on the initial shipping company's tracking.
Hoping to receive it soon (don't have a car still though) 😂

Any update on the others in the second batch? Assuming I was not one of the first 6 since I haven't received anything.
