Who did your PPF?

Love reading about the adventure and all the process behind it. Might inspire me to share my own story one day.

The Leipzig facility contracts with a third party to do it onsite. Your euro delivery contact (imagine that’s still Joey) organizes it for you. I had it done to my car as well (thanks to Alex for the heads up), and the job is better executed than the precut stuff that the 992s get.

Joey from PCNA liason's with the Leipzig people and someone comes and does it for them prior to delivery. I didn't want to deal with picking the car up and waiting again for PPF and the rates were about the same as the outside vendors, maybe cheaper. The quality was really good, much better than other PPF jobs that I've had and I don't have any reason to complain. At first I was actually a bit annoyed as I thought they forgot to do it and then really had to examine and feel for edges underneath the rocker etc...

Thanks.... Joey just sent me a note stating they don't offer it for Zuffenhausen delivery. Oh well... I will be using Tracwrap instead.

Thank you, its probably my favorite picture of any car I've ever owned. It comes later on in the build journal but I liked it as the thumbnail for this thread

Thank you! Couldn't resist on this color, wish Porsche didn't kill it off so quickly.

Loved following along live when you landed in Germany and looking forward to the recap. Diving in head first and making lifelong memories is the essence of Porsche ownership. Kudos Alex 🍻

For my first Euro Delivery in 2012 I had to tell them to not drill holes and then the local tech in Leipzig and I cobbled something together with black "duck tape" and some thin package foam strips between the plate and the paint of the Boxster (there was no center grill). As a historical side note, that time you also got the winter tire set at no extra cost...

During my second one in 2016, the local tech and I again jury-rigged a solution by using cable ties to attach the plate to the center grill. As a side note, at that time, you still could drive as much as you liked (drove around 4600 miles/7400 km) without having to pay VAT while now you are limited to 6000km if you want your VAT back.

Awesome thread with great pictures!

Having done 2 Euro Deliveries out of Leipzig and now waiting for my 3rd (out of Stuttgart unfortunately, since there were no available slots in Leipzig), reading your story brings back lots of memories and makes me look forward even more to mine.
