Says my SRS left the German port today and is bound to the Houston Port. Anyone have an idea on what ship I’m on?

 

Guessing they are not necessarily building exactly according to VIN sequence as I have VIN 7162 and my manufacturing start date got moved from 9/20 and is now 9/24. My completion date also just moved from 10/14 to 10/16.

How can you find out which boat a car is on, if you did European delivery? My TYD is empty since I did ED.

or the shipping guys from ED…

you can see what ships were at port and figure it out sometimes.

 

I’ve got a buddy that also did ED for his 3RS and also wasn’t able to tack it via TYD. He told me that because they consider the car delivered it takes a whole different shipping process that is not tracked via TYD. The dealership was also unable to track it unless they called PNA. He gave up trying and 30 later it magically appeared at the dealership

 

Actually the ED manager will let you know and he should know. I got updates from Michael, but I’m in Canada.

 

Wonder how potential port strikes may affect us. Noticed the VW schedule showed Amethyst Ace stopping in Texas after Baltimore but the ship is now on route to Mexico directly from Baltimore instead.

 

That’s not unusual to show Tuxpan. My June delivery showed same, but hit Freeport first. My buddy showed Freeport, but after couple days went to Tuxpan then returned.

Think they use Tuxpan to manage the schedule.

Of course unknown about the strike, or impact to the Freeport RORO dock.

 

We did European delivery and I put a Tile tracker in it. It was on the Siem Sicero that docked at Freeport, yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon the Tile showed up at the port, so the car was unloaded. It will be interesting to see how long it sits.

 

I am having the same issue. My SA said there’s no way of knowing where the car is.

 

Did you contact Michael directly? My SA said there’s no way to know where the car is exactly. I dropped my car off on 11-Sep and was picked up by the truck on 13-Sep from Sindelfingen.

 

I received an email from the European delivery team stating which ship it was on when ours was loaded on the boat.

 

Definitely not building in VIN sequence. I'm VIN 7137 and just started production last week (9/19), others posting that have later VIN numbers and earlier build dates.
