Also, it goes without saying buy the owner. I personally would prefer to buy from an individual who was the original owner and can tell you every singe thing done to the car since new. If I was buying from a dealer, I would look for a one owner car. Sure there are collectors who buy a car for a few months and then decide on something else. However, most cars that are only 2-3 years old and have 2-4 owners during that time are usually bought, driven hard with no thought into longevity or protection as the owner knew they would drive it for the summer and then sell in when their next order came in. I personally would stay away from those.

Dealers are still asking above MSRP so expect to pay $5-$15k over. From an individual, you can get around MSRP.

 

Any way to find out what the original sticker was on that car and what options it has? The dealer says they do not have that information.

 

Mirroring some comments above, with these cars the year isn’t terribly important other than from a warranty remaining standpoint. For two similarly spec’d cars, a significant mileage difference would drive value more than the year.

Depending upon model year, you might need toss a bill into that site for a membership for full info. But, likely worth it during your search.

The dealer person is either lying or exceeding lazy. All the info that would be on the Monroney sticker is in the PAG database and AFAIK easily retrieved.

Correct vinanalytics will always work, it’s the same data as the Porsche dealers. Most 3rd party dealers use them, so just ask them to order and send you the report if you don’t already have it.

 

Awhile back, VINanalytics started fire-walling their data.

Some still pull up ok, but many don't -- newer stuff not at all. My 2021 718 Spyder is in there, but the 2022 Spyder on BAT today isn't.

As mentioned, they're new enough where all I'd want when it comes to an inspection is DME report, paint meter readings and likely either myself or someone else from RL looking at the car in person. I wouldn't be concerned with how suspension bushings look given how new they are.

Regarding Porsche dealer vs non Porsche dealer, it really depends on which dealer of each. There's some Porsche dealers I trust more than non Porsche dealers and some non Porsche dealers that I trust more than Porsche dealers. So it comes down to the individual one. Look at the dealer and their reviews, specifically from people like on Rennlist or Ferrari Chat (if a non Porsche dealer) and then go from there. Also keep in mind that some good dealers will even get in bad cars at times and they'll need to sell them. You can get a sales guy that just needs to make a sale for the month which is why I do recommend some sort of an inspection for overall quality.
