PSA: My first day with the car sitting out in the sun (mid 80's) for ~3 hours....the aluminum top of the shifter was pretty toasty! Sun shield required!
Ouch ... I suppose one benefit of cheap plastic OEM!!!
either that or you'll end up like the **** in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" with a shifter pattern burnt onto the palm of your hand ... that would be quite a conversation starter!

still waiting for mine to show up!
Outstanding movie reference! I wonder if I could contort my shoulder to get it on there? lol. Branded.
I get that Porsche is trying to save weight with the plastic...but man....the difference in feel vs. the couple hundred grams of "weight saving" is beyond worth it.
So many compliments on it so far. With sincere apologies to Kim at P1Designs...it might be my fave mod so far! (until JCR arrives....)
It's just excellent.

Raceseng give you a little glove to cover the **** with for this purpose, but really you can cover it up with anything if left in the sun. Even the OEM one gets hot.

since I wear gloves to keep the alacantara wheel "clean" I can pop one of those over the **** to practice (outdoor) "safe parking" ...
That was an extremely easy install. My goal with this project was a shifter that looked OEM, but was shorter and heavier. What do you think?
Looks awesome !
Hows does the leather feel compared to the leather part of the oem stick, to me the oem leather contributes to 50% of the unpleasantness of the stick .

It feels fine. I'm not sure what you think is uno pleasant about OEM leather.
I am debating raising the shifter a bit. It's so low. But it's good. My palm rubs on the boot sometimes.
I'm not sure. I wonder what is the ideal height. Not to mention distance from steering wheel, which is greater now.

That takes me back to my old days with the Mk1 Audi TT with the real aluminum ring on the shifter. That thing would get scorching hot.
Can anyone tell me if I should order the alcantara **** in black or charcoal to match my OEM alcantara shift boot. It’s hard to tell on the website what colors are represented in the pictures.
