Spyder RS Allocation Thread
#1441
Acquired my allocation build slot for October build. Really excited.
40k ADM above MSRP, while a). it's annoying to pay 40k over MSRP, and b). I am a sucker paying for it. I tried to get on an allocation list over a year ago and was quoted 75k+ over. So it's an improvement.
Having still bought cars from the dealership before, Cayenne, 992 911 Turbo S, even additional cars from them in a fairly short period of time. Unfortunately, I've never been able to truly build a long term relationship with a dealer because since I've moved here from the UK, I've lived in NYC, Miami, LA, Dallas and back to Florida now in Boca Raton. I know some folk use their relationship and VIP status' to flip cars which is a shame for those who are genuinely interested in a model, get priced out. But, it's the nature of the beast it seems.
I know I could have picked up a pre owned one with less than 500 miles on it for cheaper, but I have a silly history of not sticking with a car for more than a year. I recall going from having a daily Range Rover Sport SVR, BMW M4 comp and a fun McLaren 600LT, alongside a weird enough 2 wheel Vanderhall Carmel GTS (all 4 cars at the same time), to a Tesla Model X Plaid (for a month), and a Aston Martin DBS SuperLeggera and a track toy Caterham 620R (currently at a family members house in Wisconsin), to a Cayenne and 911 Turbo S (regretted parting ways with it, and hated myself for months after) and then to AMG G Wagon and E63s AMG station wagon all within a timespan of 24months.
Had a young baby then decided to be a grown up and get an SUV, but wanted a bit of performance so opted for X5 M Comp, but I miss a 2 seater.
My problem is I've never been emotional attached to a car, probably because I didn't have them built to my own specs. Another emotional pull for me is they're now being built in Osnabruck, where I lived for 3.5 years as a young teenage (father was military) and I played in their youth football system there. So I feel the SRS might just be the motor that I can hopefully settle with for years upon years.
I'm torn on color though as I've always loved white exteriors with red interiors (living in Florida now), but im confused with going "boring" white or going a really cool PTS color.

I believe I have a Cali store with a Spyder RS allocation I can do for 35k over MSRP total for a Cali resident. No PTS.

Finalizing the deal with the dealership. Long time ago got on the list with them with our spec + PTS. Did not expect to get to us but it did! Both our SA and us were surprised to find out the car got produced and with PTS.
now Some back and forth but they’re pretty firm at 50k ADM…
is that a reasonable number? It’s a 2024 SRS PTS to our spec…

What is your relationship with the dealer? Lots goes into an RS deal, so little more nuanced than just saying if it is reasonable.
In general $50k ADM would have been ok last Nov when the first wave was released. Now, that would be high. Probably $30kish is where we are today.
With that being said, I’m sure in some locations $50k or above is transacting on a PTS good spec car.

MSRP is reasonable, the rest is just noise

The dealer determines what they think is reasonable. Did you agree to a price, sign contract? What market are you in?

Not a VIP or anything, we’ve only purchased another car with them in the past (granted also a PTS).

What color is it? Getting PTS approved when the allocation allows it, doesn't always guarantee that it'll be produced. I'd take it if I were you since it's already in the spec you wanted
