I had my race shop source them for me. I didn't ask where they got them from, but I think it was from a local Porsche dealer.

Part number(s)?

Edit: Never mind that. I see you posted the info in another thread.

if it is so desirable why not more people got it when it was available?

Seriously? GT3s are desirable, why are people buying base Carreras?

If you are serious: cost and availability. You can easily add $40k to a build with all the desirable options (as I did). I actually ordered a new Spyder as my old one had sofas and irons and I missed the buckets and CCBs. Now with supply chain issues, lots of people who wanted those options had them removed from their build which will make the cars with certain options even harder to find on the secondary market.

Do you seriously compare PCCB+LWBS that COMBINED are around 10% of the car cost to a Carrera vs GT3 where the later costs between 2 and 3 times?
Supply chain issues weren't a thing in MY20 and MY21 where we have actual stats of.
It is the color debate all over again, a rare color isn't more desirable because it is rare. It is rare because it was less desirable.

The exception is really, like you said, where certain options aren't available, but that wasn't the case until recently.

For those that aren't happy with the newer PCCB pads, I can recommend the Pagid RSC1 compound. These have a little less initial bite compared to the old PCCB pads(pre-copper regulations) but they make up for it with much better feel and modulation. Zero noise or dust on the street but also very capable on track. I normally sell these with my Surface Transforms kits, but they also work excellent on PCCB discs. I have these in stock if anyone is interested. If your car is still under warranty, ask your dealer if they will let you switch Pagid compounds, some will, some won't.

No question in my mind that a Spyder "Drivers Build" =
a) MT
b) LWBS
c) PCCBs

This of course is all subjective as even a basic build is a PHENOMENAL driver.

Im sorry, wut? How can something that will likely never need replacing over the life of the car be a huge maintenance expense?

OP, that’s a good $20k in options. At that mileage, I would have assumed a $15k price delta.

no they aren't ... you are just fueling the age old RL BS about PCCB unless you have first hand experience this is just hearsay/speculation.

It is called hyperbole to emphasize a point. Adding $40k to a car is a big deal for some.

Some people want a Sunday drive car with sofas and an automatic but people on these types of forums tend to be enthusiasts and will usually spec more aggressively.
