Default 2nd service Pollen Filter / AC Disinfection

Dropped of my car at the dealer today (2020 GT4). The rep listed $2900 worth of service items for this service, $1900 of which she was adamant are "REQUIRED!". When I asked what "required" really meant she said that "we won't reset the service interval if you don't perform the required items". She also said that they might affect warranty coverage if the cause is related ... Amount the required items:

$500 for a pollen filter
$450 for a AC system disinfection

I decide to just just do the Oil change and Brake fluid ($950) and skip the other two.
When I asked why the pollen filter is $500 she said its because it's really hard to get to on this car, but a simple look up shows that anyone with a hex screwdriver and 10 minutes can swap this out. Not even sure what disinfection the AC does but I'm not worried about it because my car is always garaged, I have no pets, and I never use the AC or the pollen filter since my windows are always down when I drive my GT4.

So my question is:
1) Should I care that my "service interval" is not reset?
2) Is there a way to reset this myself?

Find another dealer that's highway robbery.

I'm being quoted $1,300 including the pollen filter and brake fluid change which is still ridiculous.

Both filters are $70 from suncoast and other places, and a 30 min job. An iCarsoft tool to reset the reminder is $120 bux. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PK991POL.html &
Amazon Amazon
. The brake fluid flush should also be done at 2 years. A motive bleeder and some fluid is under $200 bux, the dealer may charge 800 with labor and to cycle the ABS with a PIWIS, at least in my area.

Thanks!
$900 for oil and brakes seemed within range, but the rest I figured I would do myself. I think I'll do a whole filter day and change the intake filters with BMC filters while I'm at it.

Unreal.
Did they charge you to top up your blinker fluid too?

What part of the Us are you in?....I'm assuming there are some differences based on geography, but $2900 is insane.
I have my 2 year service coming up in May/June so am wondering what the average cost is all-in? (oil/filter, brake fluid, filter)...
Would love to hear from others on their 2 year service cost-

The cabin air filter in the passenger footwell is a bear and requires a bit of driveway gymnastics to replace (have any kids? honestly they'd likely be able to do it quicker), but $500 is, uh, real steep.

Buy a set of filters from FCP Euro and take advantage of the lifetime replacement for the next time you need to swap them out; it'll save you $50 down the road.

Only one thing to add, as I agree the charges are beyond ridiculous :

I would thinkmtheir refusal to reset the oil change light is a violation of their agreement with Porsche, might look into notifying Porsche NA. Tell them you changed the pollen filters yourself (it really isn't hard) and just get the oil change a fluid flush, although I'd balk at those charges too, a couple hours in my garage and $100 worth of parts takes care of it. An indy shop can also perform the work and it won't affect the warranty.

I use a local independent shop for all my mtce. Only warranty work goes to the stealership. Your local PCA chapter will have a list of local shops they use for track event inspections, this is a great place to start. They also do the track inspections for no charge as a way to gain your other business. If you track your car, you'll want to change/flush your brake fluid at the beginning of every season (min. 1x per year). My first service at an independent included oil/filter/gearbox/brake fluid flush all for $700 plus taxes. Liquid Moly oils and RBF 600.

I know this is a Porsche site and owners tend to be a bit more affluent than your average Joe, but still surprises me how many people don't take advantage of FCP's lifetime warranty on EVERYTHING. Buy a cabin filter from them and you'll never have to buy one again.
