So I have Apex 19x9 front and 19x11 rear wheels that I bought used from a guy who sold his GT4 locally. As I don't have camber plates yet I'm limited to the 255 or less front tyre limiting me according to Apex's fine guide to the SC2 tyres. It looks like theres a few more choices for the 19x10.5" rear which lets you go for 285 width instead of 295 or 305 width rear tyre. Has anyone tried to run say a 285 RE-71RS on an 11" tyre to see if it mounts up and looks okay (squarer shoulder or what have you?) I have an e-mail out to Apex on this too, but just curious if anyone has done it. Looks like the 10.5" rear rim may have given more options.

285/35 works just fine on an 11" rear. Looks don't matter performance does.

Ran the RE71 RS for two days and really liked them. Track temp was hotter the second day and they really fell off once they got to 35 or 36 psi. I liked them most between 32 and 34 and they appear to have worn evenly.

They do come up to temperature incredibly fast.

Not sure if this has been posted, but fairly in depth talk about them with Bridgestone rep:

Overall very pleased with my RT660's. I dont have much to compare to since the GT4 is new to me. However I am able to put sown some fast laps at my local tracks and I am please with their grip levels and heat management. During a day in the high 80's, I did feel them get a little greasy when they were around 36psi. I may try a little lower aim next time. The wear seemed really great.

With that being said, I have a set of supercar 3r waiting for me. However at this rate I am probably looking at mounting those late summer.

I am glad I did the 10.5 rears ET44 with the Apex VS5RS. With the Lower control arms shimmed out an extra 8mm over stock and meaty 305 tires, the setup is really meaty. No rubbing. -2.7 camber.

For those with Dunlop Sport Maxx race 2 experience, what is your preferred hot PSI? Have only been on Cup 2's which I target for 30 psi. 4RS came with Dunlops

Jury is still out on the RT660 for me, for such a hyped tire I was a little disappointed. There's something a little unpredictable about them depending on temperature, cant really put quite put my finger on it but I'm not totally sold. In the 200TW zone Cup2's are still the champs for me, especially the first 5 HC's or so. I also found a big gash on my front right tire showing cords underneath which ended my day, so whilst this set of RT660's is done they had more life left in them so I cannot speak to how they perform over 15HC's or so.. Debating do I give them another shot, or try SC3R's. I would really like to try the RE71rs if they made them in 265/305.

The SC3R's are great. On the 7th day (nearly 30 sessions) I still ran a PB with a .4 second improvement. At this point it takes the first session to scrape off all the old oxidized rubber. But from there on, once they get heated up, they just keep coming back to life for a good half dozen or more laps in each session. My next set is arriving tomorrow.

Both the SC3 & SC3 R’s are at or near the top of their respective class of tires.

I’m really hoping the Yoko Neova AD09’s are just as good as the SC3’s since GY is having trouble getting the 295 rears out.

The AD09’s are supposed to ship to me on June 1st

I'm really liking the Nankang AR1. Heat up on the very first lap. They hold up throughout the day very consistently but are noisier than hell on the drive to and from the track.

Not fitted yet but will go on when my current set are finished. Still have a few track days of life in them. I will certainly report back with lap times and findings after I have run them. I chose against trying the 255’s up front. Someone else can be the Guinea pig for that.

Nice, I look forward to your report and findings.

Here in the US, the rears got delayed, as seems to be the case with that size on all the good tires. Was supposed to be avail on June 1st, now it got pushed to June 16th and the folks at TR think it will end up being even longer.

I couldn't wait any longer as my SC3 rears are toast, so I am giving the Dunlop Sport Maxx Race 2 N2 specs a go.

The GT3 guys really seem to like them a lot more than the Cup 2's. Their sidewall stiffness is supposed to be somewhere in between the SC3's and the Cup 2's, so hopefully with a bit more PSI, like 30 COLD they will match the SC3's at 28 PSI COLD, which is where I run those at.

They are also supposed to be quicker than the Cup 2's, so they SHOULD have just a bit more grip then the AD09's as they are an endurance 200TW tire.

The Dunlops are expensive though, so that sucks, but they are also 5 lbs lighter in the fronts than the SC3's, so we will see what 5lbs less of unsprung mass does to the steering and suspension.

I will have to catch the AD09's on the next round, or if I end up hating the Dunlops, then just run them until the AD09's are avail, and sale the Dunlops. All the reports I have read(other than price) seem to be that they are well liked, so I am hopeful.
