I just added a 10mm shim to the left rear side and it rubs right on the sidewall with 295's. Never had this issue before and I bet its the shim. I'm going to try and re-align, remove the shim, push the top plate in as much as possible in the bolt holes and raise the rear up a bit to reduce it.
I'll also consider reducing rear camber, it was -2 without rubbing and moving to -2.5 was what did it.
Could also go to a stiffer rear spring but interference is interference

I don't have the ability or time to play around with this too much. I'm going to get another set of 265/295 cup2's or maybe the re71rs in 255/285. Too bad the apex fitment guide doesn't mention the Falken clearance issues.
I'll be selling the falkens and eat the loss. For sale thread to come!

My RT660 continue to improve with heat cycles, up to 9 sessions with them now. Still figuring out pressures, think I'm going to back off a little & aim for around 33 to 34 PSIG hot. Also rode with @paffinity in his 86 on RE71RS that are nearly corded. Felt like impressive grip from the passenger seat. Ordering a set for my Miata, once it's running, will A/B test them throughout their life with same heat cycles SC3R, which are my current gold standard. Also had the local pro comment that the RE71RS are impressive in the wet, echoing what @85Gold said earlier in the thread.

As Lovetoturn mentions, moving to 19" does help by providing a bit more clearance.
My car was rubbing slightly at -2.5 with the Dunlops, the Immocars rear strut top plates fixed everything and can even fit wider tires.
Had the same problem on my previous 718 GT4.

I just mounted 265/35/19 and 295/35/19 rt660 on the @APEXRaceParts vs5rs 9 and 10.5 combo.
Front suspension has tarrett camber plates and rubbing issues sorted out at 3deg camber
Rear suspension has toe links and locking plates. Rear camber camber is 2.5 with 10mm shims added and there is some obvious rubbing in the rear. The wheels and tires stick out a little and the rubbing looks to be about 1" from the outside of the tire.
Has anyone encountered this? These are the sizes recommended by Apex on their fitment guide.

We have one day on a full set of the new RE71RS and they are grippy. Note - we found them best at 31 lbs hot. Over that, in the 255/35/19 & 285/35/19 the car was not happy. We did still have a small amount of rear fender rubbing; no spacers, but with drop links and -2.4 rear camber. Hoping for a 265/35/19 for the front to come out soon. As others have said the new Bridgestones are ready almost immediately.

Same. I have Forgeline 19x11 50 mm offset with 305 RT660 with no problem. I do have stiffer springs and car is at factory ride height so that might have something to do with it.

If you are running wider tires, you are surely running -2.0-2.5 of rear camber to take advantage of the tires. Remember when you add that extra shim, it does lower the car and make it more likely to rub. So you need to go back and check the ride height and raise it back to the OEM levels to resolve any rubbing issues. Each turn on the coilover is about 2mm of ride height.

If you’re running 4S and not destroying them then good for you, but you’re also most likely super slow.
