So it's no different than if I were to install my own (likely better quality, cheaper) dashcam anyways. lol.

I would prefer the work be done at a Porsche dealership, using a Porsche product for use with the Porsche Dashcam app, into a planned electrical source.
Your use of “lol” makes you come off as an opinionated troll

Having the extra fuse slot may be nice actually. I've installed a dashcam on my other car and had to piggy back off another fuse if I'm not mistaken.
It's not like it's an expensive option to have the prep checked.

OK,

Having real trouble with this. I have the dashcam specific to the prewire - but where does the cable for the prewire cable plug in? Porsche does not seem to have a clue.... The cable for the prewire is 9Y0-044=955 D. There is a 6 pin connector at the end - but where does it terminate? Anyone found this prewiring termination yet?

Thx in advance.

I hardwired a radar detector/camera combo using a modified Dongar Technologies harness so I didn't have to cut or splice any of the factory wiring.

I'll figure out how best to route the cable this weekend but happy with the solution.

Dash cam is 1080P but it's fine for what I need.

I payed for the dashcam prewire but no idea what it was. I was expecting a small USB port or something tucked away on the back of the mirror I guess but it aint that!

This is a clean setup, and Im going to steal the harness idea!
Im about to setup my Uniden R7, paired with the Blackvue 900X 1 Chanel dashcam.

Question for anyone who actually ordered the dashcam from suncoast or somewhere else...Does it come with any instructions? I ordered the prewire on my Spyder and am also clueless as to what I actually bought.

Jumping on this thread as well - anyone has examples mounting a radar (or radar/dashcam combo like Escort MaxCam 360) using the wiring from "Preparation for dash camera" on 23' gts model?

Periokid - I can confirm that the kit from Suncoast does NOT come with any instructions. I'm 99% I will have mine installed either at (a) dealer or (b) Porsche shop

Wow, that is crazy. Thanks for the info. I may have to rethink this Porsche Dashcam. Maybe I'll do something else.

FWIW these dash cams are very easy to install. There are tons of vids on YouTube on how to install one.
