Preparation for dash camera

Sounds like a total waste then. I was hoping pre-wiring meant it was all set up near the rear view mirror and you slot in the camera/housing and bob’s your uncle.
Also note this will disable wireless car play for cars equipped as such. Another detractor for this option.
I’ll pass.

If you want wireless CarPlay in the 718 platform, they make an aftermarket dongle that plugs into your Consol USB port that supports wireless CarPlay. Works pretty well. I can find the brand I bought if anybody’s interested.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but this was in ref to a UK GT4RS where the dash cam prep is listed fitted as standard, and no further option on this. If you're paying for it as an option then maybe there is more to it, maybe there's dashcam prep, and dashcam+ prep 🤔😁

I ordered my Spyder with the Dashcam prep and got a Dashcam from Suncoast parts, gave it to my dealer to install before delivery. Dash cam prep is probably as stated above, just a fuse box spot to attach the cable that comes with the dash cam. Dealership needs to take apart quite a few pieces to run the cable to the fuse box. As for wireless CarPlay, not sure that that’s really an issue. The dash cam does not need Bluetooth to work, it comes on and records events automatically when you turn the ignition on. You use a Wi-Fi connection to your phone or iPad if you want to see video playback or adjust settings. Events are recorded onto the included SD card
