Lightweight Bucket Seats (LWBS) Discussion
#31
LWBS, besides holding you in place so well, just connects your rump seemingly directly to the road. If you drive by the seat of your pants, you want LWBS (IMO).

nope - ask any Spyder owner about "convenience"!

I like buckets. I've had cars with buckets. In real life it's much easier to whack the door into the thing you're parked next to getting out of buckets than regular seats because as you lift your legs out the only place you can really put them on the ground is in the smallest area of the door opening which makes it easy to push the door. At that point in the door moving it the slightest amount will move the edge of the door a large amount. At least that's how it works with the way my body is laid out.

The silly door strap handle is incompatible with the memory buttons, that's why.

If GT4/Spyder owners continue to complain about trivial inconveniences, we will soon all be driving 911s. . . or BMWs
There is something to be said for 'rawness' and simplicity in a sport car
Be careful what you ask for . . . once those analog gauges are gone, they will not be coming back

LWBs = Worth getting in and out of, cause once you are in, there is no substitute. Plus ****, they are sexy and I am vain.
But no comfort access DOES **** me off. I would gladly take the 12lb (or whatever) hit for the ability to not have to pull my key out every single time and hold it while getting into the buckets.
It's actually the only thing I dont like about the Spyder. But mine also has 460 miles on it in 3 months. Tough to get out for long drives with two kids.

And as GT owners we're happy to pay more to not have to deal with this thing you call convenience. Whatever that is it.

Nope. I've had them in two cars and never got annoyed with them. Loved them. I'd have them in my Taycan if they would have let me spec them. After having buckets, all the other Porsche seats kinda suck to me.

I like my manual sport seats in my CGTS but would have paid for lumbar adjustment. I just didn't want the weight of the 18 way seats. On a GT4 I would always order buckets, and I really wish my 987 Spyder had them.

I wouldn't mind comfort access too. That's one tech option I like. But I tell me that in exchange for not having that they also made it so I don't need radar cruise or lane departure or a ton of other finicky tech crap I don't want on a sports car, so I can live with having to use a key. I'd prefer they have deleted the backup sensors, sirus wart, and TPMS sensors too. I haven't heard the backup sensors yet because it's not that type of car for me and TPMS ensors are pretty annoying when I can't permanently set my own PSI's I want to use (at least I haven't figured out how to yet).
