do you guys live in/around LA? Do you just drive to Willow Springs in your GT4RS? I’ve never been but would love to go.

yeah I grew up in bay area and im in LA now. I used to go to laguna and sears point/infineon as well as Thunderhill and now I mainly just go to Buttonwillow and willow springs a lot, usually laguna when I go up north around christmas time (although closed last few months for renovations)

And yeah just drive there, thats the beauty of these GT cars, drive to the racetrack, destroy some tires, smoke some pads, run through some tanks.....then drive home. If my engine blows up I'll call AAA to bring it to BH Porsche and ask them why my engine is making funny noises, then they fix for free

I'm probably going this Friday to Buttonwillow with the Touring because I need to put in a sub 2 min lap....it's a disgrace that I couldn't break 2 minutes in the car (even though I'm not used not having aero).

I've been to Willow Springs a few times, not my favorite track. My favorite local SoCal track where I got started was Buttonwillow so I love going there. You should come out to the track, it's a lot of fun. But I'd recommend starting with BMW CCA or PCA where you'll have an instructor help you get used to being on the track. I started with BMW CCA back in 2005 with my BMW E46 M3 at Buttonwillow.

I can't have an instructor in my Porsche?

Looks like nice French rubbers as well on yours... Hoping mine is the same and not those Dunlops. Mine is scheduled to be built in early April.

My full option black GT4RS keeps moving up since November, I git the first update March 20 saying it will be built "soon".

FWIW, my experience with the German tires are the same with the French tires. With a decent alignment, I’ve gotten plenty of good track days out of the Dunlops, with decent lap times as well. Maybe I just got lucky? I have Cup 2 now and so far, I’m experiencing more road noise.

I would have bought the Dunlops again, but they cost more than the Cup 2 and I wanted to see how they compare. Only 2 track days with the Cup 2s so far and they feel pretty similar.

Similar experience here with the Dunlop Race 2 tires, great performance on and off the track, and as you say relatively quiet as well!

Starting price is 160k vs 149k so a bit of a wash

Can you get 2024 options on a 23 that hasn’t locked yet?
